@Cryptonite3256 VerifiedX functions as a sidechain/relayer chain where BTC is effectively moved off the base layer into its ecosystem, with security and value accrual shifting to its own validator/token model rather than boosting Bitcoin miners. Looks like a Blockchain siphoning fees like LN.

🔥 Il y a un an, la conversation autour de Kaspa était très centrée sur une seule chose : la vitesse brute.

On parlait surtout de scaling pur, de BlockDAG vs blockchain classique, de comparaisons TPS avec Bitcoin et Ethereum, et de « fastest chain in existence ». Le ton était souvent très hype et orienté prix/narratif.

Aujourd’hui, mi-juin 2026, le discours a clairement changé.

On parle de Toccata (activation prévue le 30 juin), de covenants natifs L1, de preuves ZK vérifiables directement sur la chaîne, d’Igra L2 (déjà en production), de stablecoins potentiels, de stress tests on-chain et de cas d’usage concrets (agents IA, micropaiements machine-to-machine…).

**Quelques signaux concrets de ce shift :**

- Les pics d’activité récents atteignent plusieurs millions de transactions par jour (jusqu’à 5,6 millions de tx uniques en 24h récemment), bien au-delà des volumes habituels de l’année dernière.
- Les threads les plus commentés actuellement portent sur des sujets techniques et stratégiques (covenants, programmabilité, écosystème L2) plutôt que sur de la pure spéculation prix.
- L’écosystème commence à se structurer : Igra Network est tracké sur GeckoTerminal, des protocoles DeFi apparaissent, et les discussions sur les usages réels post-Toccata se multiplient.

On est passé d’une communauté qui célébrait principalement la performance technique à une communauté qui commence à se poser des questions de produit, d’usage réel et de stratégie long terme.

C’est un signe de maturité classique dans les projets crypto : on sort de la phase « on est les plus rapides » pour entrer dans la phase « qu’est-ce qu’on peut vraiment construire avec ça ? ».

I was fortunate enough to witness the process behind this upgrade up close.

Half a year ago, the only thing we knew was that Kaspa had to become programmable, ASAP. This notion matured into a surprisingly complete and elegant solution in a very short period of time.

Building a development framework is a massive task, so the first attempts were to harness KIP-16's ZK verification opcodes to tap into existing ZK development frameworks, but we did not find a good enough fit.

One weekend Ori sat down with some leftover tokens, and Silverscript came out the other side.
The project grew quickly, and the compiler now enables a wide range of applications to be written and deployed directly on Kaspa in a high-level language (thanks to KIP-17 and KIP-20).

KIP-21 deserves its own post, but it allows for complex ZK-based applications and is a fundamental component of the full vProgs solution.

Together, all these turn Kaspa into an impressively expressive programmable money layer. From simple vaults, through basic contracts to complex multi-contract applications, alongside privacy apps and scalable batch-proving-based applications.

Toccata is the outcome of pure R&D -- deep research and hardcore development, done fast and in parallel (how fitting).

There’s still much work to be done to make the new capabilities more approachable, but it’s hard to understate the power, elegance, and completeness of what the best money layer in the world will soon allow us to express.
