@McFaul It’s rational if your priorities are messed up. Acquiring those tiny bits of land for Russia is more important to Putin than the wellbeing or future of his people. In his mind, greatness is only measured by conquest of territory and consolidation of power.
@johnpavlovitz Because our votes in California and the other blue States that make it easy to vote are still being counted. But turnout will still likely be lower than 2020.
@arosh_matias @academic_la I don’t buy Into Trump being better for Israel because he will give Bibi and his extremist coalition free rein to do whatever they want. That could actually make things worse for Israel. I also don’t think that America becoming more authoritarian will help Israel either.
@naomiseibt Maybe one day Germany will have someone like Trump who promises to make your country great again by getting rid of all the undesirable people in your country. You’ve never had that in Germany before, right?
@badlibtakes Immigration lawyer here. Trump administration did not try to deport legal immigrants but did try to limit legal immigration drastically. Look up fourth pillar of Trump’s immigration plan at 2018 SOTU.
@luken_van@CraigRozniecki Wow, almost like people from around the world are trying to come to the U.S. because they know there’s so much work and the economy is booming thanks to Biden.
@jackikotkiewicz Everything on this list is in nominal terms except for weekly earnings which are in real terms. This means weekly earnings have been adjusted for increased costs, i.e. all the other stuff above. In nominal terms wages have gone way up and are currently going up faster than costs.
@DavidAsmanfox The economy grew at a rate of -2.77% in 2020, Trump’s last year in office. I.e. it shrunk. Unemployment was at 6.7% in December 2020. Of course inflation was low, nobody had any money.
@ninaturner@POTUS A fundamentalist Islamic religious military dictatorship bent on rebuilding a theocratic empire will never be able to erase the Israeli people’s love of liberty.
Brutality will never grind down the will of the free.
And Israel will never be a victory for Hamas.
@NatashaBertrand This happened because Hamas frequently commits the war crime of Perfidy, tricking the enemy into ambushes and suicide bombings by dressing as civilians or pretending to surrender. The soldiers surely thought it was a trick.
@jrpsaki Maybe you should be listening to your immigration team on this one too. The U.S. is already imposing a testing requirement to enter the country beginning January 26. A location-based ban is arbitrary and cruel at this point with a worldwide pandemic.
@seanhannity So part of your deal with @realDonaldTrump is that you get free legal advice from his attorney in return for being his propaganda machine? What other forms of payment does he provide you with? #UnfairAndBiased.
@AirCanada Another couple in the expedited line was also faced with a similar attack by this agent. They barely made their flight after being sent to the back of the line too. They also were harmed by that experience and encouraged us to file a complaint.
@AirCanada The biggest issue is that Air Canada employees were verbally abusive, rude and treated us like criminals for getting lost in the terminal, not customers who paid $1500 for a flight. They asked invasive personal questions rather than trying to help.
@AirCanada I don't think there is an Air Canada employee who stands at the entrance to assign people who are having issues to the expedited line so that another employee can chastise those individuals and send them to the back of the general line.
