A guy moves to a new city with zero friends.
He picks 2 spots and goes every week.
He learns the staff's names. Then the owner's. Then the regulars'.
Month 3, he walks in and 4 people wave.
BBC was the greatest trio in football, not because they were the most beautiful, but because they were the most inevitable.
MSN was beauty. You watched them and you smiled. The one-twos, the little flicks, the friendship. It was football as art. It was made to be admired.
BBC was not made to be admired. BBC was made to win. To destroy.
Bale running like a horse that escaped war. Benzema sacrificing himself, linking, bleeding for the team with no credit. And Ronaldo - the storm in the middle. The end product. The man who turned every attack into a sentence.
MSN would caress you. BBC would kill you.
And that is the dichotomy of Messi and Ronaldo.
Messi is beauty. When he plays, football feels pure. It feels like it was meant to be like that. You watch him and you feel something in your chest.
Ronaldo is greatness. When he plays, football feels powerful. It feels like willpower can beat talent. You watch him and you feel something in your gut - the fear, the awe, the inevitability that he will find a way.
Both are good. But one is beautiful, the other one is great.
Beauty makes you fall in love with football.
Greatness makes you remember why you will never forget it.
I still remember when my colleague was kidnapped on her way home from work early this year.
For two months, her parents ran from pillar to post, borrowing money and begging family and friends to help raise the ransom.
When she finally came home, she narrated how they were gang-raped every morning and night.
The kidnappers chose their victims and temporary married them to themselves celebrating, eating and drinking like it was a legal union.
She said sometimes they shared one woman among two, three, or four men.
Weeks after her release, she was found pregnant.
That same week, we lost her to su!cide. The trauma was more than her heart could bear.
And whenever I see people still supporting this government, I remember her. I remember her parents, I think of other victims that never made it to the media.
How do you watch people suffer d!e like this and still defend a government that has failed to protect them?
Are you human at all or just deliberately wicked?
how to read people;
hypocrites - are overly nice
the envious - put others down
the noble - help in silence
the brave - admit their fears
small minds - talk about others
great minds - talk about ideas
the weak - look for someone to blame
the strong - know how to forgive
the ignorant - think they know everything
the wise - know when to stay silent
liars - promise a lot
happy people - stay tf out of people's lives

True story, just after youth service, I interviewed at Konga for an entry level role related to SEO Management so since it was my first ever role, I studied really hard or so I thought.
Day of interview, interview asked me a, I answered like radio. In fact, the interviewer then made a comment and I rejected his response by saying, "I'm pretty sure that's not the case, I read about it yesterday."
Of course, I was rejected. Two things to take note of when interviewing for an entry level that will almost nearly guarantee you success:
1. Accept you don't know anything about the role or expectations of it. But you should have knowledge of basics -- your course, the company's info, your "why", etc.
2. With this acceptance, comes the next and most important step: let your answers end with the assurance that you're adaptable and open to learn. This isn't kissing ass because you don't even know the ass to kiss, in the first place. You'll be taught everything, so you have nothing to fear.
8/10 times with the above 2 tips in mind, you'll get any entry level job.
go on youtube and search for an hour long video of the lifestyle you claim you want.
watch the private jets, expensive cars, hotels, beautiful homes, fine dining, shopping sprees, all of it.
after 10 mins, your brain will start looking for reasons to reject it. you'll be surprised by how uncomfortable you feel not because you hate luxury, but because your mind has spent so long identifying with struggle that abundance feels foreign.
your own personality starts telling you, “this isn't for people like us.” “this is too much.” “who even lives like this? “this can't be real.” blah blah blah.
and look, it's not always jealousy. a lot of the time, your brain has just gotten so used to struggle that comfort feels unfamiliar.
you can't keep telling yourself you're meant for more while constantly consuming poverty skits, struggle content and everything that reinforces the same reality you're trying to escape. you keep feeding your brain the same thing every day, then wonder why that reality feels normal to you.
at some point, you have to become comfortable seeing the life you want before you can become comfortable living it.
filter your feed, curate what you consume, pay attention to what you're feeding your mind every single day and watch how your perception starts changing.
don't thank me now, you can later.
You guys don't understand how important it is to have friends who don't gatekeep.
Friends who tell you what worked for them, send you opportunities, introduce you to people, share resources and genuinely want to see you win.
