After 26 days cycling across 12 Kenyan counties raising awareness on Postpartum Depression, Phase 3 begins today
For the next 30 days, I’ll be sharing powerful quotes from psychiatric nurses, psychologists, psychiatrists & mothers with lived experience. Let’s break PPD stigma.
Workplace Tip: Women with TS often have incredible verbal/writing #skills but may struggle with visual-spatial tasks. A safe work environment allows for different learning styles and task delegation. Diversity is a strength, not a deficit! #TurnerSyndrome#FutureOfWork#Inclusive
@AfricaTurner thanks @INTERPOL_HQ NCB – Nairobi for the critical support during the 13-country #TurnerSyndrome cycling campaign led by @benhaggaio. Your facilitation ensured success! Special thanks to the Chief of NCB, Ibrahim Jillo and Daniel Aika for their invaluable service.
What began as an endurance ride turned into a journey to amplify the voices of causes.
Along the way, I’ve championed:
1️⃣ Road Safety for Cyclists
2️⃣ Twende Butiama 🇹🇿
3️⃣ Childhood Cancer Awareness 🎗
4️⃣ Baby Briella’s Liver Transplant 💛
5️⃣ Turner Syndrome Awareness 💜
14 countries. 47 counties. 24,468 km later… 🌍🚴♂️
Today, I met Hon. Mike Sonko, the same man who first flagged me off when my journey began.
What started as a ride became a mission that crossed borders and hearts. 💫

Two wheels carry me across borders. But it’s the people I meet who carry me through the journey. 🚴♂️✨ #TwoWheelsOneWorld"

What creating awareness of Turner Syndrome taught me: people may first notice the miles I ride 🚴♂️, but the real journey is learning how rare stories can inspire big change. #CyclingForChange#TurnerSyndromeAwareness To support in this journey...https://t.co/PU4ea5nNo6

Dr. Kalebi Labs (DKL) hosted Gloria Kitur and Jemimah from Turner Syndrome Africa, who are leading a 𝟭𝟯-𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮 𝗖𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗻 to raise awareness about TS — a rare chromosomal disorder affecting 1 in 2,000 females worldwide.
The duo met with our CEO, Dr. Ahmed Kalebi, @DrAhmedKalebi, where they held insightful discussions on partnerships to expand access to TS diagnostic testing.
At DKL, we are committed to supporting such impactful initiatives with our advanced diagnostic solutions — including karyotype testing, microarray, and prenatal tests (CVS, Amniocentesis, NIPT) — all backed by our ISO 15189 accreditation, CAP proficiency testing, and cutting-edge laboratory technology.
Together, we continue to champion accessible, affordable, and world-class diagnostics to shine a light on rare diseases across Africa.
