I am thrilled (pun intended) to be a small part of the scary story competition!👻 Catch an extract of my 2024 Coccus Pocus story about microbes in this lovely podcast with @g_efthimiou 🦠 Activities like these are what make academia fun and enjoyable! @MicrobioSoc
We caught up with @g_efthimiou who runs a nationwide annual spooky story competition. The stories need to contain microbiology and must be spooky for Halloween. To help us, we asked society staff to read some extracts from the 2025 submission winners! https://t.co/kZcjPgMOjM
Consequence of being inspired (maybe), creative (barely) and bored (definitely)! A while ago I was playing around with chromogenic agar from @CHROMagar, trying to understand how it works and making sense of the different colours produced by the colonies. Microbiology can be fun🦠
To celebrate my WSOW win and Black Ops 6 coming out soon, we're giving away a $2,500 PC w/ @Brparadox! 🔥

Had a blast presenting in PhD flash talks at the Northern Skin Club inaugural meeting, organised by my supervisor and sponsored by @SkinMicroAgeing. Very brief talk on S. aureus biofilms in chronic wounds🦠A busy month full of conferences and meetings, time to get back to work🧫
Exciting talks at the @HullYorkMed Skin Research Centre bi-annual meeting organised by brilliant lecturers Katrien Van Bocxlaer and Michelle Rudden. Interesting science on the skin microbiome 🦠 and skin-related pathology/immunology regarding parasites 🦟 Blessed by a ☀️ day!
