@jonfavs you said on yesterday’s pod that “subject to the jurisdiction thereof” was included in the 14th amendment because of ambassadors. When the amendment was passed in 1868 the primary reason this was added was to refer to native peoples. I think it’s important to remember.
@RealCrookedNews@PodSaveAmerica@danpfeiffer What agreement was made to give these people an outlet to evade responsibility and try and make themselves employable again?
It is symptomatic of the failings of this era of democrats and of crooked media as a company that this is the kind of post mortem you would agree to.
@danpfeiffer@PodSaveAmerica@jomalleydillon@stefcutter@quentinfulks@davidplouffe Listener since early 2017… (not American but very concerned)
This was a huge missed opportunity. No pushback, you didn’t ask hard questions or follow up when they were evasive, you just let them dissemble, excuse and launder their reputations. These people lost to a fascist!
The show has really stepped up in scale and in quality of acting this season. This has raised my expectations for other aspects of this show!

I think HotD is leaning too heavily on parallels to the American Civil war. The Targaryen civil war is a story about a needless conflict between kin where neither side is unambiguously in the right, which is not the case during the American civil war, for obvious reasons.
At the moment I am seeing too many tropes of American civil war movies, which are soaked in the deeply unfortunate (and harmful) ways the conflict has been, and sorrily still is, misremembered by many.
@panopticowen Best bit of advice I got was not to recap your argument in the conclusion, but to use it to go beyond what you have argued. Instead of restating your answer to the question talk about what the wider implications are if your argument is true (or at least reasonable).
