Nigerian graduates, you might be searching for jobs the wrong way.

One mistake I see all the time:

Someone studies Economics, graduates, opens a job site and searches:

“Economics jobs.”

Then they wonder why there aren’t enough opportunities.

Your degree does NOT have to match the exact name of the job.

An Economics graduate can apply for:

• Credit Analyst
• Financial Analyst
• Business Analyst
• Banking Operations
• Research Assistant
• Graduate Trainee
• Risk Analyst
• Insurance roles
• Fintech Operations
• Data Analyst

Same thing with Business Administration.

Your search shouldn't stop at “Business Administration jobs.”

Look at:

• HR
• Operations
• Procurement
• Sales
• Customer Service
• Administration
• Business Development
• Project Support

The same principle applies to almost every degree.

Your course tells you what you studied. It doesn't determine the only job you're allowed to do.

The trick is to understand the skills your degree gives you and search for roles that require those skills.
