🐨 Con esta canción pasa lo mismo, de hecho, comparte la misma vibra que 'SWIM'..
🐨 Esperen, tengo suficiente batería? ah, no lo sé..
🐨 'Merry-go-round'... Cuando estábamos trabajando en las canciones al principio, vino un productor amigo llamado Sam. Estábamos trabajando en música con Sam, simplemente pasando el rato y charlando, cuando surgió el tema de Tame Impala. Yo le dije: 'en serio soy un gran fan de Tame Impala, de hecho quería mucho trabajar con él para mi proyecto en solitario, aunque al final no pude'. Entonces él me dijo que era amigo de Tame Impala y que incluso habían trabajado juntos. Así que me hizo escuchar varios ritmos. No sé si era un ritmo puramente de Tame Impala o uno en el que trabajó junto a Sam, pero mientras los escuchaba todos, me puso este en particular. En cuanto lo oí, pensé: 'ah, este me encanta demasiado!'

🐨 Les cuento esto para que vean cómo surgen también los trabajos durante las sesiones de composición.
🐨al escuchar este ritmo, me tuve que ir a otra sala por un momento. En ese entonces estaba Aldae, un compositor que participó muchísimo en la creación de este álbum y que tiene un gran talento y que trabajó en canciones como 'Flowers' de Miley Cyrus.
🐨 Antes de salir de la sala, le pedí un favor a Aldae. Le sugerí: 'Me gustaría que escribieras una melodía para este ritmo usando el concepto de un Merry-go-round
🐨 Se lo pedí porque, tanto en el ejército como en mi vida diaria, sentía lo mismo que con 'Swim'. Al vivir como un idol o como cantante, cada día se siente como una repetición constante; es una rutina de la que no puedes escapar. Sin embargo, mientras que 'Swim' habla sobre la esperanza dentro de esa rutina, 'Merry-go-round' habla sobre el tedio, el aburrimiento y la desesperación que se sienten en ella.
🐨 Siempre venía a mi mente la imagen de un carrusel. Tanto en el ejército como en mi vida cotidiana, pensaba en un carrusel del cual no te puedes bajar.
🐨 Después de hablar de esto, me fui a la otra sala y regresé como una hora más tarde. Cuando volví, Aldae ya había terminado de escribir toda la melodía y la letra! Era tan buena... Me la hizo escuchar completa y pensé: 'wow, esta canción definitivamente tiene que estar en el álbum'. Para mí, esta canción fue como un rayo de sol en un día de primavera. Fue así como decidimos incluirla.
🐨 Es una canción bastante triste, verdad? De hecho, es la única canción del álbum que es abiertamente triste. Aldae escribió la letra basándose por completo en la historia que le conté: "Desearía poder decirte que ya terminó, desearía poder alejarme del dolor. Mi vida es como una montaña rusa rota, pero tal vez yo soy el único a quien culpar..."
🐨 Y es verdad, al final es mi culpa. En la vida de cualquier persona, las cosas que pasan terminan siendo responsabilidad de uno mismo, no? Creo que ese era el sentimiento detrás de la canción."

Los MVs de "Merry Go Round" y "Film Out" podrían estar conectados! ✨️

in the merry go round mv the members come back through "doors" and sit on their chairs and start talking but the place looks old and abandoned for a long time. the "film out" mv was actually a music video filmed with the thought that bts would enlist in 2020 and there the members seokjin was controlling the "doors" but their house was colorful 7 members came out of 7 different doors discovered things but the house aged during this process but despite this because they were together again they returned to that house and they will revive that house again and “they never walk alone"

bts adding this is VERY important. merry go round emphasizes that while you may feel you are moving forward in life (growing up, achieving success) you are still anchored to the same heavy anxieties. the horse vertical movement mimics life’s temporary highs and lows but the horizontal trajectory never actually leaves the circle. growing up does not mean being free from anxiety and pressure. this is bts telling us that you are NOT alone when it comes to that kind of struggle.
