I know many comedians pivot to the goldmine of "perpetually feeling oppressed" bigots, who want to blame immigrants for everything.

Factually the murder rate in Ireland in 2024 was the 4th lowest in the last 50 years and one of the lower rates in the world.

Every source I've checked, from the European Union to the UN Development Index to OECD Well Being Index, said quality-of-life has been rising.

Millions of people left this island in broadly similar circumstances.

Those Irish people went everywhere, too, not just to USA and UK.
