Ghanaian woman worth celebrating today; Chef Abby

There are moments when one person rises so beautifully that they remind us of the power of heritage, discipline, and creativity. And today, that person is Chef Abby, Abena Amoakoa Sintim-Aboagye. At an age where many are still searching for direction, Chef Abby has already Broken international barriers and earned global recognition

From the warm kitchens of Ghana, inspired by tradition and shaped by the values of our Asante upbringing, respect, excellence, and resilience, she has risen to stand among the world’s best. Her journey is nothing short of incredible.

This year alone, she achieved what many only dream of:

1. She became the first Ghanaian to be named on the TIME100 Most Influential Creators list, standing shoulder to shoulder with global icons.

2. She served as a culinary partner for the British High Commission, preparing a special menu for Prince Edward, The Duke of Edinburgh, during the celebration of King Charles III’s birthday.

3. She has been celebrated on the TikTok Discover List, honoured at the Pulse Influencer Awards, Women’s Choice Awards, GH Creators Festival, and many more.

4. She founded the Chefabbys School of Food (CASOF), a space to teach, preserve, and promote African culinary heritage for the next generation.

5. She created The Big Street Feast, bringing communities together through the power of food and culture.

6. And with every viral video and brilliantly crafted recipe, she continues to show the world the beauty, dignity, and flavour of African cooking.

7. Currently in Dubai for The Bridge Summit, the world’s largest event for media, content and entertainment creators. The only Ghanaian in there.

Her voice, her craft, and her presence remind us that talent from Ghana, from Asanteman, can compete on any world stage.
She is proof that when passion meets purpose, the world will make room for you.

Today, we celebrate a woman who is redefining African cuisine.

One of the Bible characters I kept thinking about during my retreat in December 2024 was Pharaoh’s daughter.

She wasn’t part of God’s covenant people, yet God used her to protect destiny. Imagine that a woman finding a crying baby in a little basket, not knowing she was saving the future deliverer of Israel.

It just reminded me that God’s ways are bigger than ours. He can move through anyone to bring His plans to life.
