Rap Brown on socialism
“I don't see any working example of socialism, communism or any ideology that's desirable for black people in this country because of racism. Socialism, especially when it's white controlled, can foster just as much racism as anything else. Socialism and Marxism deal with exploitation but not with racism.
Any ideology to deal with racism still has to be created. and it has to be created by the masses of people.”
Marcus Garvey, Kwame Ture, Malcolm X, Assata Shakur, W.E.B. Du Bois, Thomas Sankara, Mandela, Lumumba, Amilcar Cabral, Frantz Fanon, Huey Newton, Fred Hampton, and thousands of others that you've never heard of with feats you'll never know because your idol is just 50 Cent.
People forget that I am an anarchist. I don't say this stuff because I believe there is a liberal solution.
But it's the fundimentals, it's the basic work. You wanna fight the government but you can't be bothered to call to oppose a bill? You wanna join some grand rebel army but you won't organize with local activist groups? You wanna be a guerrilla in the woods but you won't drive out to a protest?
You're a boxer who won't do cardio because "it won't help me punch harder"
You gotta do the basics people, the fundamentals build. Things are so fucked because barely anyone is doing the fundamentals. You cannot achieve anything without them.
