Australia’s under-16s social media ban has proven wildly popular among parents, but nevertheless it was ill conceived and comes with worrying trade-offs, writes @DaraHaylee.

@IonaItalia Might also be a bit of the same jealousy that motivates the cliched socialist activist that clearly “hates the rich rather than wants to help the poor”. But also being beautiful doesn’t make someone better (anymore than being rich makes does).
@IonaItalia I personally strive (pun intended) for 11111 steps (or equivalent) a day for the same reason (it looks like legs walking) but I know it is arbitrary.
The most inner west “Albo's Electorate” election thing seen today… takes a certain level of privilege to vote based on a politicians views on Palestine (not based on policies for Australia).
Policy no. 1 for DINGO, no more government dept or agency rebrands… stop it. They have no competition which they have to distinguish themselves from, and Australians have no choice but to give them our money.
Sports federation Athletics Australia announces a rebrand to Australian Athletics in a move they say reflects the sport's evolution.

I still maintain that the systematic devaluing of the Aussie passport by the government over covid (banned from both leaving the country and returning) means that it should be free for 2 years to make up for it. But no, they just made it the most expensive passport in the world.
This seems totally nuts that we charge Australians so much to have a passport.
🇦🇺 $412
🇳🇿 $195
🇦 $180
🇺🇸 $210
And the most accepted passport in the 🌎, 🇸🇬 $82

@Aella_Girl Christmas Day was spend alone then I took a long flight to the other side of the world (cause I was cheap and flying on Christmas was cost effective).
@misha_saul Hey that is unfair to the ABC. I have read at least 2 stories about the NDIS they published recently. Both were bemoaning the crackdown on paying for hookers, art therapy etc with NDIS funds and how important it was to keep these services as part of the NDIS.
Obviously Biden can and was always going to pardon Hunter. It is a power the president has, and that is fine, but what I want to know is where are all the people that were hyperventilating over the Trump immunity SCOTUS decision a few months ago?
