@conorsen You need to go for it in the window where your elite talent is at its peak. So Boston, Minnesota, Lakers, Knicks, Nuggets, Cavs have no choice. Question is how aggressively the up and comers like Detroit, Houston, Orlando, Atlanta, Portland, Indiana try to hit the gas pedal.

@MattZeitlin I'd argue Dow and DuPont are much more similar today vs 1976 than IBM is. Other than its (much smaller but still profitable) mainframe business, IBM is a totally different beast now, and as you say much smaller on a relative basis
