@Romudeth I mean Arc Raiders released a few months ago with great success. I’m not saying this is a 1-to-1 w/ Marathon. But it seems like there is still room if the games hit the high quality bar. Only time will tell with Marathon, but I think it has a better shot than most of succeeding.
The only thing I hate when a new game/IP fails is when people say it failed because "nobody asked for this".
You know how many successful games there are that "nobody ask for". Consumers alot of the time don't know what they want until its put in front of them so just saying using what the audience asked for aint really the best metric for creation.
@PaulTassi I think the genre within live service is important to the equation. But I think the hero shooter generally is doa unless it is EXTREMELY compelling.
Also, at this point I think publishers need to be prepped with telling ppl how long they realistically expect to support a game.
