🇧🇷Rio de Janeiro, June 21, 2026 –
Thousands of Brazilians were woken up in the early hours of Saturday morning by emergency alerts on their phones claiming an “alien attack”.
It was a cyberattack on the national emergency alert system of the Civil Defense. Hackers sent fake messages with phrases such as “Alien Attack, Humans We’ve Arrived” and “Misantropia”.
Authorities quickly confirmed there was no real threat, suspended the system, and the Federal Police are investigating the incident.
The event caused panic and flooded social media with memes, but everything is now under control.

Geranium drones versus the “Ukrainian AI system”: the difference between the promotional video and the reality of the battlefield.
The recent media blitz about a supposed “Ukrainian artificial intelligence system capable of shooting down Geranium drones” has once again clashed with the harsh operational reality.
The announcement generated spectacular headlines and demonstration videos; however, the Geranium drones continue to perform their missions with sustained effectiveness, demonstrating that, for now, algorithms perform much better in press releases than in the real skies. Far from being an obsolete weapon, the Geranium platform offers a wide range of tactical and strategic applications. In contexts like Latin America, for example, the same technology could be used—at least in theory—to:
- Locate and neutralize drug labs hidden in the jungle
-Intercept cartel vessels operating on large rivers;
-Attack heavily defended complexes where leaders of criminal organizations are holed up.
In short: while Ukrainian neural networks grab likes and headlines, Geranios continues doing exactly what they know how to do: arrive, make an impact, and repeat. The gap between demonstration and real-world operation remains, once again, glaringly obvious.
