1. Paracetamol will work faster on an empty stomach. And it doesn’t cause ulcer.
2. Eating oily food and taking your anti-malaria medication like the artemether/lumefantrine will make it work better.
3. Cimetidine may cause sexual dysfunction in men. The prolonged use of cimetidine has been associated with erectile dysfunction and a low sperm count.
4. If you’re severely depressed, don’t take ciprofloxacin, it may worsen it.
5. The time in which you take your medications is very important. It’s not there for fancy. Some drugs are best used in the morning, while others are best used in the evening. If your healthcare provider prescribed it for you to take it in the night, do that. Don’t go and take it in the morning.
6. Don’t take NSAIDs (e.g ibuprofen, piroxicam, diclofenac, etc) on an empty stomach. They will irritate your stomach and predispose you to ulcer and gastrointestinal bleeding.
7. Tetracycline can HARM the FETUS. If you are pregnant or have plans of becoming pregnant while taking tetracycline, call your doctor immediately.
8. Taking tetracycline with alcohol or within the period of alcohol intake is highly not advised. This practice may harm you.
9. If you have epilepsy, don’t take ciprofloxacin as it can precipitate seizure attack in people with epilepsy.
10. Don’t take take dexamethasone for weight gain. Using it for such will only harm you. Only use it when prescribed. Dexamethasone dampens your immune system, it is only to be used when prescribed as the benefits outweighs the risks. Using it on your own is bad. Again, the weight you thought you gained will be lost the moment you stop using the drug, so why harm yourself? Don’t abuse drugs.
