Iceyen ensimmäinen satelliitti on palaamassa ilmakehään seuraavan parin vuorokauden aikana. X-1 laukaistiin alkuvuonna 2018 ja sen jälkeen yritys on laukaissut parikymmentä uutta satelliittia. X-1 oli käytössä vain noin puoli vuotta, mutta siitä yrityksen menestystarina alkoi.
@DarrenMuff @ICEYEfi I watched it being launched. It’s fantastic that it has been followed by so many more.
Here it is, ready to go, 14 hours before launch on 11/1/2018:
Farewell ICEYE-X1 - you started a revolution down here and proved it was possible to make a fine resolution small SAR satellite. 🫡
Now who won the bet on when this would come down @ICEYEfi ?
Can’t believe how over-enthusiastic I get talking about nerdy stuff - sorry (But gotta admit that satellite+RADAR+earth-observation is pretty cool) 🛰️++🌎=😎
What makes ICEYE’s Dwell a revolutionary capability?
It collects images over an unprecedented 25 seconds, packing more critical information about objects and their movements into a single image.

@mouthofmorrison Also big Kudos to @umbraspace for saying 16cm resolution (on the ground) rather than embellishing and saying the slant range is 12.5cm. Way more useful. Thanks for leading the way with integrity.
#NeverMissAThing: In this video, @DarrenMuff delves deeper into ICEYE's Dwell Mode, focusing on its enhanced image quality. He explains how we achieve highly-reduced speckle and shows a wealth of additional insights that might have gone unnoticed without Dwell.
I asked the team if they could help me to explain why it makes such an amazing difference when our satellites stare at a location for a really long time. I still find this amazing and it wasn't something that I fully appreciated when we started flying the satellites in odd ways.
Our newest imaging product – Dwell – is especially useful for defense and intelligence, enabling analysts to detect and classify aircraft more confidently, thanks to enhanced image quality.
Listen to ICEYE's @DarrenMuff diving into one of the key benefits of the Dwell product.
Separation confirmed! 🛰️🛰️🛰️🛰️
All 4 ICEYE SAR satellites successfully separated from the Falcon 9 rocket.
Big congratulations to Team ICEYE & huge thank you to @EXOLAUNCH and @SpaceX!
@JuusoLiekkila Koska työskentelen Suomessa rakastan tätä (kauneutensa vuoksi). Ja pelkää sitä (koska se hankaloittaa suomalaisia satelliittejamme. 😬).
It takes a great team to achieve great things!
A big thank you to everyone who contributed to making the upcoming Transporter-8 launch possible through hard work and dedication, especially to @EXOLAUNCH, @SpaceX, and of course the global Team ICEYE.
Stay tuned for updates! 🚀
Some of you may remember the Multiple Mirror Telescope - the MMT - in Arizona. which operated from 1979 to 1998 on Mt Hopkins.
It had six 1.8-meter-diameter mirrors. There was always a rumour that they had 'fallen off the back of a lorry' - (1/n)
@mouthofmorrison@Jack_B_Reid Yea. I’m up for that. Commercial SAR will have to learn to deal with this anyhow. As we all expand to fill the X-Band ITU allocation of 1.2GHz, we will all have the same centre frequency. So if we don’t cooperate, we could all jam each other.
50 years ago the still secret National Reconnaissance Office was using their satellites to photograph the damaged Skylab station in orbit. The resulting image is still classified
