Did you know that our dietitians are responsible for over 30,000 patient contacts a year?
This week we are celebrating our amazing 67 Dietitians as part of #DW2024.
Pictured are our Tube Feeding Coordinators Ashleigh & Rachel & Kensey, dietetic assistant practitioner.

Stark reality is that the offer will likely be accepted out of widespread financial hardship. Unions had a simple blueprint to follow for pay parity but have failed to deliver this in full despite unprecedented strike action! Not good enough imo
Today’s pay offer not reflective of pay parity! 22/23 Non consolidated payment not in line with that of NHS England. Average B5- B7 will receive £430-£720 less than England. 5% approved, but why should NI NHS workers have to compromise on the NCP!
🙋♂️ Please listen to your dietitian without her having to get to fired up!
⚠️ No More NPO!
🔎 Please feed w/in 24 h or start TPN by day 3-Early PN ⬇️ infection when started at day 3 vs waiting in @JAMASurgery

“The lack of both tier 2 and tier 3 weight management services in #Leeds has left patients with an ‘unacceptable’ service provision gap, according to the LMC.”…….”we are really concerned that this decision widens health inequalities rather than addressing it.”

How amazing to be the first in the UK to pilot the new Fit drinks machine that makes juices and milky cappuccinos/coffees all texture modified to IDDSI standards for our patients with dysphagia! Day in the life of a dietitian☕️ #DW2023#WeAreDietetics@RoyalFreeNHS@CateringRfh
A potentially divisive move here by Govt and @theRCN - does this put Agenda for Change, a contract for a million NHS staff at risk by starting to create exclusive carve outs for one group over others? What do nurses and non-nurse AfC staff think?
@BrownAdey@BDA_Obesity @bda_renal I wasn’t aware the cut off was <30! I thought guidance was to ‘avoid in end stage renal disease’, which I was factoring to be in the <15 region. Medication licensing often a challenge in the renal population!
Does latest semaglutide guidance now suggest ability to prescribe outside of Tier 3/4 obesity services? Given the scarcity of such services this could be hugely beneficial to certain patient groups. Pts awaiting renal transplant with ⬆️BMI being one @BDA_Obesity @bda_renal
Thousands of people will soon be able to be prescribed a drug to help them lose weight as part of their treatment in an NHS specialist weight management service.
Our final guidance recommends semaglutide alongside diet and exercise.

A fantastic end to the week 🥳🎉 @drjamesburton@LeicesterCTU
An important insight into the evolving challenges facing all health trusts in NI. The one constant however is the incredible care, dedication and effort shown by all our NHS staff.
A special mention to our ambulance service and ED staff at this difficult time 🏥⚕️ #spotlightni
