Absolute nonsense. Pleading the 5th is not an indication of guilt, full stop. The real issue is that since he has a parden he cannot be the target of a criminal case regarding what he is being questioned about and as such has no right to refuse testimony since such testimony could not be used against him criminally in this regard.
I would agree that the cooperative interaction between God and His people has an enhanced effect on this world. Jesus no longer walks incarnate among us like He did 2000 years ago, but His people walk in this world with Him living inside are the hands that reach out for the healing of the nations.
@OrthoProvoc I believe we are invited to. But like a hand cannot grasp or pluck a banjo when severed apart from the body, we cannot participate without God. And we cannot graft ourselves into the body, God does that.
I guess the point is that the works in question are always the works of God and not anything we can do in our flesh even if we are the agent through whom the Holy Spirit acts. Christ even said the Father that dwelled in Him did the works(John 14:10). If we are the body of Christ, then we do the works of Christ through and at the behest His Spirit. I don’t think this is a denial of the works of God, just the idea that our own works apart from Him can pave the way to salvation.
Is it too much to ask for to have a Star Trek where no one ever punches a dinosaur and every other crew member isn’t gifted with some sort of super power?
Helped Setup a large tent yesterday for our church’s annual outdoor meeting next month. It’s always a lot of work but God blessed us with a great mild weather day. Feeling blessed. 🙂
@EvanPaul05 The only way to quit sinning is through the power of the Holy Spirit. Those who walk in the Spirit are dead to sin, no longer to work the unfruitful works of the flesh.
