Just outside of Omaha, you can visit the Worlds Largest Ball of Stamps! Started by some bored kids in 1953, the ball eventually grew to 600 pounds, 32 inches around, and contain over 4.6 million stamps!

In 1954, a small meteor crashed through a woman’s roof hitting her as she was napping, the only documented case in history a meteor has hit someone! It’s still on display in Tuscaloosa’s history museum.

On Halloween 1990, the 18ft tall concrete “Fremont Troll” was created under one of Seattle’s oldest bridges as a way to “beautify” the area, even crushing a full size VW bug in his hand!

Built for beer mogul Frederick Pabst in 1892, the opulent 20,000sq-ft. Milwaukee mansion originally had 66 rooms, 14 fireplaces, and apparently 14 hidden compartments in Pabst’s study!

The men’s room in the Hermitage Hotel in Nashville has won “Restroom of the Year” numerous times! It features lime/black art deco styling, leaded glass tiles, and terrazzo flooring!

Built in honor of its original creator for the 1982 World’s Fair, the 10ft tall, 1200lb world’s largest Rubik’s Cube was donated to, and now resides in Knoxville, Tennessee!

The Bronx Zoo features the first and only Carousel made up entirely of ridable insects! The 64 rideable bugs include fireflies, grasshoppers, ladybugs, and even a dung beetle!

Standing over Route 66 in Tulsa is a 21ft tall Space Cowboy named Buck Atom, an homage to the “muffler men” statues of the 60s that were used to draw customers in to local businesses!

Each summer, San Antonio’s Bracken Cave hosts an estimated 20 million bats making it the largest colony of bats, and perhaps the largest concentration of mammals in the world!

Sedona’s McDonald’s is the only location in the world lacking the famous “Golden Arches.” The town felt that they would clash with the surrounding aesthetic and insisted on teal!

With 25 breweries and growing, Fort Collins is a mecca for craft beer! So much so that the city is responsible for 70% of the state’s and 7% of the country’s craft beer!

To combat a graffiti epidemic in the 1980s, Philadelphia launched a mural arts program and the city now boasts over 3,800 public art pieces and has earned the title, “City of Murals.”
