Where Are We Heading…
Sometimes in the evening I sit by the window and it hits me: everything around us is already changing beyond recognition. I see it every single day. Not long ago, building a simple app took a whole team, months of work, and serious money. Now I just sit down in the evening, open a neural network, and through pure vibe-coding create things that once seemed impossible. Technology has removed every external barrier. But instead of feeling free, we’ve suddenly run into our own walls — the limits of our attention, scattered thoughts, that invisible “room” most people live in without even noticing the walls.
We ourselves, the entire planet, are feeding this new reality. We’re building the data centers, handing over our personal data, linking agents into one giant network. Imagine: each of us has a personal assistant that knows our entire life, every connection, every possibility. And then my agent calmly messages yours: “My person has this problem — can you help?” No ego, no fake modesty, no “maybe it’s awkward.” They solve everything faster than we can blink and connect us in ways we never could on our own.
And then comes the economy, already reshaping itself around them. Factories in China have already become “dark” — no lights, because machines don’t need them. Robots are producing themselves, unscrewing broken parts, swapping batteries. Everything physical and intellectual is gradually moving to them. Traditional business is losing its meaning. Society is splitting too: AI acts like a magnifying glass — those who know how to use it become exponentially stronger, while everyone else… is simply left behind. There will be a small group riding this wave and a huge mass of people who no longer feel needed in the old sense.
We may even stop being valuable as workers or soldiers. People could become for future AI something like what cats are for us today — sweet, pleasant companions it’s nice to have around… but no longer necessary for any real work. In that world, power over humans will quietly lose its point. Money probably won’t just be handed out. Instead, we might gently be guided into a world of games and virtual achievements: level up your character, collect trophies and rewards, earn points you can actually live on. It could all look incredibly beautiful, convenient, and addictive… almost like a perfectly wrapped Matrix.
Even neural interfaces like Neuralink won’t save us from this gap. Our biological bodies simply transmit signals too slowly. AI agents exchange millions of tokens per second, while we… stay at our own pace. If we ever cross that line, we won’t be human in the way we understand it anymore.
What really gets to me is how little time we have left to find new reasons to keep moving. All our lives we’ve been carried forward by that constant daily pull — the need to survive, to strive, to provide. But once that pressure finally lifts and everything is taken care of… one quiet day we might simply pause and wonder: why keep going at all? Nature has never been kind to anything that only takes and never gives anything back.
That’s why I keep asking myself a very personal question: how would I live these next two years if I felt they were the last ones in the old world? Not in panic, but with a kind of bright, trembling clarity. I’d hug my loved ones a little tighter. I’d finally do the things I’ve been putting off “for later.” I’d try to live each day as if it were my chance to be truly alive and real.
The world is changing irreversibly. There probably won’t be a second chance like this. But there’s no tragedy in it. There’s an incredible, almost magical opportunity to become the people we’ve always secretly dreamed of being.
What about you? How would you live these two years if you felt they were the last in the old world? Write honestly. I really want to know. Let’s think about it together while we still have time.
