His ankle gets twisted, his leg gets trapped and the only thing that probably saved him from a serious injury was the fact he went down with the challenge. If he plants his foot and stands his ground, we're potentially talking about something much worse.

The part I find most interesting is that everybody is talking about Messi, but hardly anyone is talking about the player on the receiving end. His name is Aissa Mandi. VAR looked at that challenge and didn't even recommend a review for a yellow card. That's the bit I struggle to understand.

And let's be honest. If that exact challenge came from a player without Messi's status, do we really think we're having the same conversation today?”

I think people sometime oversimplify the transfer market. Just because one club signs several players for the same amount another club spends on a single player doesn't automatically mean one deal is better than the other.

Every transfer has its own context. Clubs aren't just buying names,they're investing in profiles, qualities and players they believe fit their idea of football. If a club is willing to spend a significant fee on one player, it's because they believe he can make a difference in ways that aren't always reflected by the price tag.

We've seen similar situations before. Real Madrid assembled an incredible squad by signing Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaká, Benzema, Xabi Alonso and others, yet Barcelona still had Lionel Messi, who continued to be the decisive player. Football has never been about who signs the most players; it's about who has the players capable of changing games.

The same applies here. Barcelona didn't spend that money without doing their homework. They've watched Gordon closely, they understand his qualities, and they believe he has the attributes to improve the team. That decision shouldn't be judged simply because another club managed to sign multiple players for a similar fee.

At the end of the day, transfers are judged on the pitch, not on social media. If Gordon performs the way Barcelona expect him to, then the investment will speak for itself. And making one major signing doesn't prevent the club from strengthening other positions if the right opportunities are available.

If I'm Lamine Yamal, those chants don't bother me. In fact, they motivate me.

People seem to forget he was coming back from an injury. Even then, when he came off the bench against Cape Verde, you could immediately see the quality he brings. Players like that don't suddenly become ordinary overnight.

Since the start of this World Cup, he's probably been the most closely marked player in the tournament. Teams are sending two or three players towards him whenever he gets the ball because they know how dangerous he is. That's the biggest compliment you can give an attacking player.

What I find funny is that Saudi Arabia weren't even playing against him, yet their fans were still chanting his name. That tells you everything about the level he's reached at such a young age. The biggest players attract the biggest attention, whether it's praise or criticism.

And we've seen this story before. Lionel Messi was mocked and doubted during the last World Cup, and we all know how that ended.

What impressed me most wasn’t just the saves themselves, but the timing of them. A fingertip here, a quick adjustment there, a strong hand at the exact moment you expect the net to bulge.

Those are not random moments, they come from concentration, experience, and belief.
From a goalkeeper’s point of view, you also notice the effect he has on his team. When a goalkeeper performs like that, the entire defensive line grows. You can see it, players start believing they can survive any wave of pressure because they know the man behind them is giving them that extra chance.

And as an opponent, that is the most frustrating thing. Not that chances are missed, but that nothing ever feels clean. Even the “right” actions are not enough, because he is already there anticipating it.
