A lot of discussion is going around about a possible cloudburst over Nashik tomorrow.
Honestly, no one can predict a cloudburst with certainty. A cloudburst is generally identified only after 100 mm or more of rainfall in an hour is recorded over a localized area.
Surprisingly, the major weather models do not currently indicate an exceptionally severe rainfall signal over Nashik. Similar concerns have arisen in the past, but many areas did not end up receiving rainfall of that magnitude. Lonavala was a notable exception, where an extremely rare rainfall event did occur.
At this stage, treat a cloudburst as a possibility. Not a certainty. Stay alert and follow official advisories.
