Great news for #TutorTuesday! Over at the @tutordotcom subreddit, we seem to have a lot of support for starting the process to unionize the tutor work force! While there is a limited sample size, we do have about 86% support thus far.

On my end, the Session Earnings looks accurate, but others are claiming that it is not accurate. Make sure you're tracking your session/wait times and if there is a discrepancy in your earnings, make sure you contact Tutor Support.

TDC isn't volunteering this information about a flaw on their end. I can only speculate why we haven't received an email thus far assuring us that everything is being tracked properly.

For this hashtag#TutorTuesday, I'm sending out a word of caution to my fellow tutors out there who work for @tutordotcom . Several threads on the subreddit have popped up since the year turned over to 2024 about folks having pay errors in their billing information.

Make sure you're checking your billing info within your settings page to make sure you're being paid appropriately. If your wages are not correct, make sure you reach out to support to be paid appropriately. They aren't likely to fix it on their own unless you say something.

If that is “recognition of your excellent work”, they may as well have sent us pizza gift cards in lieu of a pizza party. Did you not think we’d critically analyze the raises? Inflation has been roughly 30% overall since the previous round of raises.

This week for #TutorTuesday, I am happy to report that today’s posts will be the last of these posts for a month or so. @tutordotcom has made a first step towards repairing their broken relationship with their tutors.

Some of us received our first raise since the Obama administration. Was it what we were expecting? No, and that is further explored in my other post for today. However, since an effort was made, I’ll pause my efforts for now. You have a long way to go to repair this relationship.
