@RealJamesWoods I'm a liberal and agree that she should be allowed to recite her poem (assuming the story is accurate). Being liberal means listening to all viewpoints and supporting free speech.
@FmrRepMTG It's important to explain that the Parliamentarian acts a neutral referee to ensures the Senate follows its own rules. She's not striking out provisions of bills for political or policy reasons. She's doing it because their inclusion violates Senate rules.
Pete Hegseth talked to the admirals and generals like they were a bunch of losers - like Alec Baldwin’s character talking to beleaguered salesmen in Glengarry Glenross:

I can’t imagine that’s good for morale or inspiring greatness.

Thank you @WilmerHale for standing strong for democracy and the rule of law in choosing to fight Trump’s executive order. This is not a matter of Left vs. Right; it’s about defending the Constitution. In standing up to Trump you honor the legacy of your former partner Joe Welch.
@elonmusk Mr. Musk please think this through more carefully. What happens when the Democrats are in power? Do you want them to be able to impeach judges b/c they don’t like decisions that favor you? Impeachment should only be for misconduct, not because one party doesnt like their decision
@elonmusk Mr. Musk, you’re not thinking this one through. Judges should only be impeached for misconduct, not because one party or another disagrees with their rulings. Judges support the rule of law which protects you, your companies, every citizen and every business in the United States
@elonmusk Mr. Musk you do want to live in a country where judges can get impeached just because the president doesn’t like their decisions. That would undermine the rule of law in this country and your businesses need a stable, rule of law system to thrive.
@brithume I think everyone can plainly see that Trump is for whatever reason compromised by some kind of allegiance to Putin and Russia, and in this area at least, he is disloyal to the United States. The Republicans are the only ones who can do something about it. I hope they do.
@elonmusk If this report is accurate can you get this back up and running? Predicting an preventing famines should take precedence over politics. https://t.co/3kACZu6tY6
@anthonyzenkus@dougthompson101@Lawrence I understand that you feel it’s a racial unjust bill and the Dems shouldn’t give an opportunity to someone who voted for it. I’m not sure I agree with that assessment of the bill and feel like we should focus on saving democracy instead. It’s ok that we disagree about this.
@anthonyzenkus@dougthompson101@Lawrence That’s only one piece of legislation, rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic, so to speak, while Trump, enabled by Republicans, steers our democracy into a huge iceberg. We can’t afford to be purists right now. It should be all hands on deck to save our country.
@TipperJackson63@RadioFreeTom Whether he’s right or wrong, be kind, Ron Jackson. If you are a Christian person of faith, you may agree that is what God wants.
@anthonyzenkus@dougthompson101@Lawrence I get that you are concerned about Dems being too close to Repubs on policy, but there is one huge difference. Repubs have stopped functioning as a check on Trump. They will do whatever he requests and with Trump tearing at the fabric of democracy, we can’t afford that.
@RealJamesWoods Of course the Democrats support farmers. They don’t applaud because they don’t believe tariffs and other Trump policies will help farmers. They could be wrong, but that’s a different issue from whether or not they support farmers.
@elonmusk Putin is also having fancy dinners while men die in trenches. Moreover, he is the one who started the war and the one who attacked a sovereign country. Do you feel that Putin is somehow exempt from the same criticism you direct at EU leaders and Zelenskyy? If so, why?
