@danbulance24 Almost a year after the original tweet I find myself reading this again after witnessing it recently. Decorticate posturing and very convincing 'breathing' became agonal soon after.
@VOEMS1@NYCEMSwatch Hopefully some good data will be captured from this for future trials. The REPHILL trial didn't show blood products to be any better than I.v fluids in trauma patients. https://t.co/Fg1xfQf7Qw
AGONAL BREATHING THREAD…
Recently attended a OHCA whilst off duty. I was seriously questioning if the patient was breathing but called it in stating agonal breathing. Ended up being conveyed with multiple shocks for V-Fib. So what does agonal or ineffective breathing look like?
@CumminsNM@FanshaweCollege @alan_batt @PublicHealthUL@EamonnByrne9 Never had any formal training on it (from first responder-emt and now paramedic) in Ireland. I think the ASSIST training program should be mandatory at some point in the undergrad phase.
@bt_123_NV "Tools" can fail, learning the basic methods first, that should always work is best. When you progress to EFR/ CFR-A airway adjuncts and suction are added to the scope of practice.
