Born, raised and proudly live in the great Steel City of Champions. Pittsburgh cityscape/wedding photographer. Pens fan. Marathon runner. Husband and dad.
It's been forever since I've captured a decent sunrise over #Pittsburgh, and now that soccer season has ended hopefully I'll be able to get out and capture one soon. Until then here is an absolutely epic one from the South Side Slopes, featuring bands of fluorescent color.
Been a few weeks since I’ve posted but my day job (which is not photography) and my kids sports took over the month of May. But I’m back now, so here’s a view of the moon from yesterday morning in #pittsburgh. Thought it was pretty cool to include the Heinz Stacks and incline.
Sunrise yesterday morning in #Pittsburgh was pretty incredible, and I feel like it's been forever since I shot a morning like this when the rivers were still. This is a six shot panorama from the banks of the Ohio River, and the color wouldn't have been in a more perfect spot.
It was a crazy week at my non-photography day job so I didn't share many images, but here's one from yesterday's sunrise in #Pittsburgh. I framed the city the the trees at the edge of the West End, and although it was a clear the morning, the view was incredible.
It was the perfect sunrise for Mother's Day in #Pittsburgh today, as vibrant clouds filled the sky directly behind the city in this view from Mt. Washington early this morning.
A very Happy Mother's Day to all of the moms out there...hope you all have a great day!
Two years ago today was some of the best lightning I've ever captured in #Pittsburgh. All of these are single images, not composites, and it was incredible to see Mother Nature put on a show. The one of the bolt right behind the stadium is definitely a favorite.
A view of moonset over the weekend from the Hill District as it hung right above the Steel Building in downtown #Pittsburgh. I've always loved this view, with the way that the houses lead you right to the skyline. It's the perfect mashup of neighborhoods and the city.
These are 35mm film images capturing on a camera that was released for 'The Phantom Menance' that projects Star Wars characters directly onto the film. While composing these scenes in #Pittsburgh was a little tough because I couldn't see the characters, they came out so cool!
One more set for now! It was also super fun using scenes from the Draft, and I'll have more of those to share. The podracing one on 279 came out way better than I expected, and the one of the Death Star and the Cathedral is a yearly favorite as well.
May the Fourth Be With You!
Today is Star Wars Day, my favorite (unofficial yet very official) holiday of the year, and I absolutely love putting together mashups of Star Wars scenes and #Pittsburgh. I created over 40 news one for this year and will be sharing them today!
Using scenes from the old airport was fun, but I just couldn't help using as many #Pittsburgh images as possible. The one of Vader looking over the city is an all time favorite, but the Duel of the Fates came out so cool too.
It is an absolutely picture perfect day in #Pittsburgh for the marathon today, and it was so much fun capturing these images downtown at the start of the race. The view from the incline is always beautiful, but I love how the bridge framed the city as runners went by.
Today is the 10 year anniversary of one of my all time favorite images of #Pittsburgh, when I caught a lightning bolt actually hitting the river. I never never seen that happen before, and I'll probably never seen it happen again. A once in a lifetime image.
Clouds are supposed to roll in later today, but it was a beautiful sunrise from the Duquesne Incline in #Pittsburgh early this morning. The fog cleared and the clouds above the city lit up perfectly just as the sun came over the horizon.
A little color on this overcast day in #Pittsburgh, and a view from the North Shore on a beautiful spring afternoon. The redbuds along the river were in full bloom, and the combination of the bright yellow bridges and almost neon blue sky made for an amazing scene.
Even though I shared most of the Draft specific images that I shot, I go have a few others from this weekend's festivities in #Pittsburgh that I really liked, including this one from the roof of the Steel Building. Pretty cool how you can see the Goodyear Blimp as well!
Just a handful of images from the NFL Draft in #Pittsburgh left to share. This set includes images from the various graphics that were displayed on the Wyndham, including the large Steelers logo, the skyline (skyline-ception), and the Super Bowl trophies.
It seemed like the Draft took forever to get here, and now we're on the last day. I still have a bunch of images to share from around #Pittsburgh over the last few days, and these are some more favorites. It's been a crazy week in the Steel City.
Last night they didn't show the Steelers logo on the Wyndham during their pick, but they did tonight, and man did it look awesome. Downtown #Pittsburgh was lit up gold behind it, the fountain was higher tonight, and the incline was on Mt. Washington. Picture perfect scene.
