Imagine if a former Republican FBI Director had posted a photo of shells arranged as “86 46” about a Democratic president.

The press would have lost its fucking mind by lunchtime.

Every network would lead with “Former top cop issues coded death threat.” Cable panels would bring on retired agents to explain how “86” means eliminate. Legal analysts would declare it a presumptive true threat under federal law. The New York Times would run a 3,000-word investigation into whether the shells were staged. MSNBC would dedicate three hours to “the dangerous escalation of right-wing political violence.” There would be wall-to-wall demands for an immediate arrest, increased protection for the president, and solemn editorials warning that democracy itself was under attack.

Instead, we got James Comey.

Same code. Same office. Same circumstances. Different political target.

Suddenly, it’s a quirky beach walk, a misunderstood political joke, or, at worst, an unfortunate lapse in judgment. The same outlets that treat every conservative meme as stochastic terrorism somehow discover endless nuance when the man who once ran the FBI posts it.

They spent years telling us Comey was the last honest man in Washington. The institutionalist. The truth-teller. Now that same man posts a coded removal message about the sitting president, and the press mostly shrugs, softens, or changes the subject.

Because the target is the one they’re allowed to hate.

That’s selective blindness dressed up as principle. If those shells had been posted by a Republican, this would already be the defining political scandal of the year.

Because it was Comey, half the media is still pretending it needs more context.

Reminder: The WNBA is trapped in the worst position any liberal institution can be in.

They have just two options:

A) Let biological males compete as women. This is institutional suicide as it would trigger a cascade of copycats. Probability: 0%.

B) Define “woman”. This forces them to admit gender is not a feeling. It publicly walks back years of ideology and looks like they never actually believed a word of it.

Either choice burns gender ideology to the ground.

BREAKING - This mother and daughter paid $1,000 per ticket to attend today’s Indiana Fever vs. Atlanta Dream game at State Farm Arena, specifically to see Sophie Cunningham — a woman they respect and admire for taking a clear stance against biological men in women’s sports. They wore XX/XY shirts in support of that same message. The back of the daughter’s shirt simply read “For the girls.”

Arena staff gave them two options: cover the shirts or leave. They were handed shirts to put on over their own.

Earlier in the game, a woman wearing a “Protect Trans Rights” shirt was prominently featured on the Jumbotron. Only after receiving that stadium spotlight was she also told to cover her shirt.

A women’s league run by women decided a shirt saying “For the girls” was too offensive and controversial to wear. Meanwhile, State Farm Arena will put a pro-trans message on the big screen — but won’t allow a shirt that states a basic biological truth.

The WNBA and stadiums like State Farm Arena continue to be a national embarrassment.
