@gosplan1921 @GeoffyPJohnston No that’s is inaccurate. The King is head of the Commonwealth. Canada has a Governor General who signs legislation and is Head of State. The Prime Minister is the head of the government of Canada and effectively writes legislation and operates the government.

When I was a young detective, I was part of a team working to identify a man who had abducted and murdered a child. After we arrested him, two senior detectives interviewed him—and what he said has stayed with me ever since.

He looked them in the eye and said, “If she had screamed, I would’ve let her go. I told her not to scream or I’d kill her—but if she had, I would’ve run.”

He even said, “Make sure you tell parents that.”

As sick as it was, his words carried a brutal truth: if someone is trying to force you into a car—scream. Fight. Make noise. Don’t go quietly. Because where they’re trying to take you is never a better place.

I pass that information on as often as I can.
