My first meeting with the new Prime Minister of Latvia, @AndrisKulbergs, and an important result for our countries – we signed a Drone Deal. These are concrete things to strengthen our joint defense and co-production, and, importantly, this also means Ukraine’s expertise and experience helping to strengthen our partners. This is exactly the kind of systemic cooperation we are building with those who have consistently supported us throughout all the years of Russia’s war. Ukraine is interested in ensuring that every region of Europe has sufficient protection against Russian threats.
I also informed the Prime Minister about Ukraine’s air defense needs. Separately, we discussed sanctions pressure on Russia, in particular strengthening sanctions against Russia’s shadow fleet. I am grateful that we have such excellent relations between our nations. And we thank Latvia for all the support it has provided to Ukraine throughout this war.
This is Iryna, she was only 18.
Yesterday, she passed away after a week-long battle for her life, succumbing to severe injuries sustained during the russian attack on Kyiv on June 2nd🕯
Iryna was a sophomore, studying psychology at Mykhailo Drahomanov Ukrainian State University.
Russia killed her for being Ukrainian.
While I was briefly back in the US, I was disheartened by how many would say "oh is that still going on?" when referring to the war in Ukraine.
It was incredibly frustrating for me especially as an active duty medic in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At that point its just willful ignorance. Everyone has a cellphone, laptop, tablet, etc. Information is literally at your finger tips. But instead of informing oneself properly, the choice seems to be watching AI slop, mainstream media, and other short attention span apps.
The was is not over, it has not slowed down, we are still working and fighting for freedom in Ukraine, the frontline is still 1000 km long, civilians are still being killed by r*ssia every day. We can only go so far to inform you. The rest is up to you. Up to date sources, @KyivIndependent@KyivPost@saintjavelin@U24_gov_ua
