@darrengrimes Parents control kid's social media, go buy a brick phone. Not around when I was a kid. No chance would hot a Smartphone, as my dad couldn't afford it. I had some £ from aged 14 with Sat job, but not enough to buy my own,or run it, even if existed. 1st world problem.

@BasilTheGreat So this 'moral panic' is being driven by parents if kid's killed themselves. Just on BBC, one admitted to searching for reason why. Can't be bad parenting can it? Or genetics and born mentally ill? No, has to be an outside cause, a 'folk devil'. This time, social media blamed.

@BasilTheGreat Book by a sociologist Stanley Cohen called 'folk devils and moral panics'. Govt blamed the mass media for the creation of mods and rockers. Govt then reacts to this 'moral panic'. The problem is, suicide rate teenagers, FALLEN last 15 years, bar jump 2018, due stats change.

@GBNEWS Education budget £122 bn pa. 40% of kid's, 60% London, have 1 parent born abroad. So in 5 years, 40% budget will be £48bn. How about keeping triple lock for pensioners like me who paid NI since aged 16, rather than on immigrants kid's,who's parents paid nothing? It's a choice.

@AlfieHouseEcho The alternative is to have a train/tram system, with on existing tracks but also street running. Cardiff has. That's City/region wide massive investment. Battery, so no need 3rd rail or overhead wires. And tunnel from Central to Woolston to give 2nd station.

@Azz_Bailey @AlfieHouseEcho Train line not 3rd rail electric, expensive to fit, as on a branch. Would have been better if SWR traincare depot site used for a new station, on the mainline, and room for long platforms. SWR Trains then stabled at the vast Eastleigh works. That's privatisation for you!

@GBNEWS So, axe my pension that I paid in from aged 16, from 1974, to fund migrants, legal and illegal, majority who either don't work or so low paid receive more in benefits than put in? Seems fair! Nobody voted for this. We have the £, just govt's CHOSE to NOT spend on UK taxpayers.

@ArchRose90 They threw leaflets,and spread items over the floor. That's littering under the railway bylaws. Fixed penalty notice with fines up to £1,000. Also, shouting down megaphones is a noise nuisance. So, total lie that couldn't do anything.Another example of 2 tier policing.

@JohnCleese Brought ticket to visit on Saturday, as 2 days in Bristol. Will see what sign says then. Visiting a few museums. Be interesting if any mention Lundy island, 12 miles from Bristol, was run by Muslim slavers in 1600's. West Country was raided for centuries by Muslim's. Reparations?

@BasilTheGreat Waiting for liver scan after blood test. Took 5 weeks to speak to GP, by phone, as never actually see one face to face. Told waiting list was 2 months. But, 5 weeks before call, and only then on list. Another way of massaging waiting times. Let's hope not liver cancer.
