My best advice for clients and athletes over 30:

𝗗𝗼 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝙛𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗼𝘂𝘁.

Jump, sprint, slam/throw medicine balls, swing kettlebells.

POWER is the first thing to go as we age.

Don't let the way you train feed into it.

There's a difference between BUILDING strength and DISPLAYING strength.

Instagram circus acts are not exercises, and are a terrible way to train.

But they're a great way to get empty views and likes.

External cues are great, but hard numbers don't lie.

And, they're a powerful tool to help your athletes up their intensity to make every rep count.

Many athletes truly don't understand what it feels like to produce force as fast and as aggressively as 𝘩𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘧𝘶𝘤𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦.

[Dave Vargo @DaveVargo1]

NEVER underestimate the impact that immediate 𝘲𝘶𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 feedback has on the effort an athlete gives.

-Vertical jumps in the program?
Use a jump mat.

-Broad Jumps?
Measure the distance of each rep.

-Sprints?
Use a laser timer.

-Med Ball Throws?
Use a radar gun

If your "speed" sessions are longer than 45 minutes, they're no longer speed, they're conditioning.

More isn't better. BETTER is better.

Looking "toned" isn't just about doing endless cardio and ignoring strength training.

𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙨 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗮𝘁 𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙨 𝗶𝘁.

But, you've got to have muscle to reveal. 🤷‍♂️

✅ Eat in a large caloric deficit.
✅ Get high protein.
✅ Lift heavy 3-5 days per week.
✅ Do HIIT on a few off days.

Unsexy? Yes.

Works like hell? Damn right.
