Check it out for yourself on Google Maps. If the right thing is not done we will keep experiencing the same thing every year.
For those of you who keep saying the drainage is blocked because of trash, I hope you learn now. Those sand-filled blockages are everywhere.
That’s a major reason why there are floods on this side of the peninsula. 🆘🆘🆘 @hctokunbowahab @drobafemihamzat@lagosstategovt

On Monday, at the Federal Executive Council, our administration approved the most consequential reforms of the National Youth Service Corps Scheme since its establishment in 1973.
On the day I was sworn in as your President, I promised to create meaningful opportunities for our young people. I said women and youth would feature prominently in our administration, and this reform is partly the actualisation of that promise.
You ask yourself why Obidients are insulting Pastor E.A.Adeboye. This is the reason: The program was meant to be an Anti-government program, they expected Pastor Adeboye to speak down on the government, insult the president. Alas, Pastor Adeboye didn’t do that, in addition Pastor Adeboye and Minister of Defense was given an award.
Today, we continued the reopening of the blocked drainage channel along Chevron Drive, which had been obstructed by Aje Residence Real Estate Agency. This drainage channel is critical to mitigating flooding and protecting the Ajiran community.
During the enforcement operation, a principal representative of the real estate company mobilised nearly 20 uniformed personnel in an attempt to obstruct our officials from carrying out their lawful duties. Normalcy was restored following the timely intervention of the Inspector General of Police, @TunjiDisu1 , who directed the immediate withdrawal of the personnel.
We remain resolute in our commitment to protecting lives and property across Lagos State. We will continue to enforce environmental laws without fear or favour, regardless of whose interests are affected.

Remi Tinubu grants N50,000 to 37,000 women petty traders
She flagged off the disbursement of the grant in Asaba, the Delta State capital, where over 1,000 petty traders benefited from the scheme.
Exactly. We are talking about petty traders. These are some of the women I interviewed yesterday evening. They hawk their goods.
Today, 10 of them will get 50k each to boost their business. God bless the anonymous for the support. These women are glad to receive the support. To them it is a very huge one.
Three of the ten women I interviewed yesterday are widows. The woman I buy nylons from has been a widow for the past sixteen years. She has been the only one catering for her children. She told me she started the business with just 10k.
I commend the President, @officialABAT, for transmitting the Bill to establish state police. If implemented correctly, this initiative can bring security closer to the communities that need it most.
However, reform is not just about what we create; it is also about what we safeguard. Nigeria has a challenging history with institutions founded on good intentions. Look at our state electoral commissions and local governments, each started with promise but ultimately fell under the control of the very executives they were intended to oversee. If state police are handed to governors without constitutional safeguards, they could easily follow this troubling trend, with consequences that could be far more severe.
There is a better approach. South Africa's Constitution treats critical institutions as guardians of democracy rather than extensions of the executive branch. These institutions are designed to be independent, secure in their tenures, directly funded, and solely accountable to the legislature.
This is the framework I have proposed to the Federal Government, not only for state police but also for the Police Force, the Independent National Electoral Commission (@inecnigeria ), the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (@officialEFCC ), the @cenbank , the @njcNig , and other entities that remain vulnerable to executive interference.
I have detailed this argument, including a proposed appointment and removal framework modelled after the judiciary, in my letter to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
I invite you to read it in full.

I heard people talking about akara sellers. It is not only akara sellers. We are also supporting tomato sellers, maize sellers, vegetable sellers, and many other petty traders. I know the beneficiaries appreciate it, and we're not intimidated by the wrong reports.
- First Lady Remi Tinubu spoke yesterday while announcing a 100 million naira support package for 2,000 female petty traders in Jigawa State, with each trader getting 50,000 naira.
The amount of rainfall recorded today is among the highest experienced in several years. Preliminary data indicates that approximately 140 millimetres of rain fell on Accra. By comparison, the highest single-day rainfall recorded last year was about 56 millimetres.
That aspect of the problem is beyond our control because it is driven by changing climatic conditions. There is the issue of human behaviour.
Whenever government begins removing structures built in waterways, some people accuse us of being inhumane. Yet when disasters such as today's flooding occur, the consequences affect everyone. The irresponsible actions of a few individuals end up putting entire communities at risk.
