My HOMM-inspired Strategy Roguelike comes out today! Check out Polytropos: A Tactical Odyssey on Steam
- Heroes of Might and Magic-style tactical combat
- Your hero directly fights in battles
- 6 factions led by Greek gods, each with different skills, units, and spells
I loved the HOMM games growing up, and I wanted to recreate the feeling of narrowly pulling through battles with an army of dregs and a secondary hero, so I went with a roguelike structure where you pick between random offerings between rounds of tactical combat.
@TheeMarkZ Will the LTA be announcing schedules for Split 2 / Split 3 soon? Trying to plan a flight to LA to watch live and it's difficult because we still don't know when games will be played.
@ThoseWhoRule@moi_rai_ Seems fair! I think most games would benefit from it as at least an optional setting. For example, chess is a deeply competitive game, and in chess apps, being able to undo or replay past game states is a great way of mastering new sequences
@SlavesOfMagic Thanks for the #TurnBasedThursday thread! I just released a demo for a Greek Mythology Roguelite Strategy RPG with HOMM-style combat.
If that sounds fun to you, give it a try on Steam! https://t.co/vPCYUkx5Ka

Each Greek god in the game operates as their own "faction", with unique units, skills, and castable prophecies. Right now, the demo has 4 gods available, but long-term I'm hoping to add several more for endless permutations and replayability.
I wanted to recreate the feeling of scraping through battles by the skin of your teeth with an army of dregs and a secondary hero, so I went with a roguelike structure where you pick between random offerings between rounds of tactical combat.
