Harris would probably have protected the workers better, but possibly paid the electrol price of being a woman of colour in a society that may not be as progressive or equal as it claimed.
Strange things happening in America. Sadly, it seems that the US has put its faith in Trump.
Simple campaign message: Do you feel better off now than 4 years ago?
For those who said 'no', his 'offer; he'd 'fix America', to make it great again and create a 'golden age'.
To me, the irony is that non-graduate Americans are suffering the effects of un-fettered capitalism; with big companies bumping up their profits.
Trump positioned himself as the protector of working people yet he is an arch-capitalist who has prioritised his corporate interests.
Harris - the incumbent - did not fight effectively on these grounds. Her campaign thought that women, graduates and the Black/ Latino vote would carry her - but her campaign failed to convince voters as to how it would improve the economy and living standards of all.
His 'offer' seems to have cut through to voters; especially non-graduates. He has picked up Black & Latino votes, that possibly felt taken for granted.
These people all suffered in the cost of living crisis; the off-shoring of manufacturing & felt threatened by immigration.
