Observer of reality, unfortunately. Greed is not good. Cruelty is not strength. Ignorance is nothing to be proud of.
Anti anti woke.

“Whenever I’m about to do something, I think ‘Would an idiot do that?’ and if they would, I do not do that thing.” – Dwight Schrute
And what is the best way to spot an idiot? Look for the person who is cruel.
Activists built a water station providing clean drinking water to Palestinians.
He posts about it's launch on X.
One hour later Israel bombs it, killing the workers.
🚨: The Trump administration fired the scientists who ran the government’s climate website, then shut the site down. The scientists just rebuilt it with their own money and put it back online.
Last week in the Alps the freezing temperatures stayed above freezing even at the highest peaks like Mont Blanc, 4,800m!
All Alpine #glaciers were melting
Sheets laid over the ice to protect from sun & heat felt like a veil draped over a dying patient
#ClimateChange is now !
Whatever the Environment Agency says, we *will* restore our river…
Volunteers were back out on the River Roding this weekend, ignoring the threats & lies of @EnvAgency, to battle against the odds to restore a part of the river that the authorities have left to die. The stretch of the Roding around Ilford has some of the worst problems on the river: rubbish and invasive species on its banks; sewage in its water; and huge amounts of rubbish & debris in the channel. I applied for funding from the Mayor to sort out this part of the river (which would have paid for floating barges and skips), but having been rejected twice, I decided we should just get on with it.
This is not an easy part of the river to clean, as the water is deep in places & the high concrete banks means it’s impossible to get large objects out of the river in most places. Luckily, our previous clearance of the area north of ilford bridge in May gave us an exit point, and I brought up a large rowboat and canoe. Teams in waders could load these boats with rubbish & then float them to be unloaded & the waste taken up onto the road. As some of the debris was deeply buried in the mud, we set up a winch on one of the trees to haul it out. We got an unbelievable array of crap from the river: a TV, mattress, shopping trolleys, pipes, traffic cones, random bits of metal and even a bench, which is now cleaned off and offers a place to sit beside the river.
This section of river- right in the centre of Ilford- could be genuinely lovely. Whilst it’s in a desperate state, we saw large mullet, dragonflies and reedbeds slowly returning along the edge where we had removed invasive species. There’s still much to do though. Do message if you’d like to join us on Sunday 26th of July for another day of in-river cleaning at this spot.
It takes an astronomical level of stupidity to believe, when you live in a land where there are billionaires, that all your problems are caused by an immigrant getting a maximum of £49 a week to live on.
All the worst cunts in Politics Praising Burnham should tell you exactly what kind of Prime Minister he's gonna be, But 40 odd years of this Uniparty has Ratfucked us into a Timeline, where no one to the Left of Thatcher Exists Anymore in UK Political Media to apply any scrutiny.
@thatbloodyMikey "Personable" = Everyone will say he's a very nice man while he takes support away from folk in wheelchairs and sells arms to murderous regimes.
"Pragmatic" = obedient to power and wealth.
Imagine Being the Energy Secretary & feeling fuck all shame in the fact that we are now Paying 80% Higher Energy Bills than we were in 2020, & they Just went up another 13% last week.
The crickets outside your window tonight are telling you the temperature. All you have to do is count the chirps.
Crickets are cold-blooded. Both their metabolism, and their chirp rate, is directly tied to air temperature outside. The warmer it is, the faster they chirp.
In 1897, a scientist named Amos Dolbear published a formula that's been repeated by the NOAA and the Old Farmer's Almanac ever since: count the chirps of a single cricket in 15 seconds, add 40, and you have the temperature in Fahrenheit within a degree or two.
The formula works between about 55 and 100 degrees. Beyond either temperature, they tend to stop chirping entirely.
Go outside tonight and listen tonight. Count for 15 seconds, add 40, then check your phone to see how accurate your local crickets are.
Btw these are the sorts of people that would be pushed most towards euthanisia. People who are physically healthy and relatively capable but due to artifical constraints by the capitalist system remain a "burden" on the state.
@TomK_Brit1993 Stand by one of the most openly corrupt, anti working class snakes we've ever had as it is revealed who he is really working for.
Ignore the kind of bribery and politics for sale you would be apoplectic about from anybody less racist.
Fuck that grifting con man.
Believing Farage is done, when you've watched the complete opposite already happen with people like Trump & Johnson.
Stop underestimating a public that will crawl through Broken glass to vote against their own interests, & a Media who make fuck all effort to inform them.
8,235 racial abuse reports in 2024, a 17% rise on the year before, and 67% of affected nurses stopped reporting because nothing happened when they did.
We're entering our third heatwave of the year.
We're calling this one #HeatwaveBP.
(After all, if storms get names, fossil-fuel-amplified heatwaves should get sponsors.)
Here's a little reminder of what 38°C does to a country whose infrastructure was built for a milder climate, maintained through austerity, and upgraded mainly via the aspirational phrase "lessons will be learned".
Perhaps an incoming Prime Minister could give this some thought.
Did you know that if you were a British journalist in 1945, and tried to interview a holocaust survivor, you could have faced 14 years in prison for the crime of interviewing a genocide survivor?
Just kidding, that's the policy today for the genocide survivors of Gaza.
"Anything else you’re interested in is not going to happen if you can’t breathe the air and drink the water. Don’t sit this one out. Do something. You are by accident of fate alive at an absolutely critical moment in the history of our planet." — Carl Sagan
