MountVernon's Landon Wilson went the distance in 7-6 complete game victory on steamy 90° night for ⚾ in DeWitt. Mustang bats hot early as Gabe Grafft went yard in the 2nd. Porter Chatman had 2H & several nice plays at SS. Ryan(3), McDermott(2) & Olsen(2) also w/multi hit games.

Reporting fr Central DeWitt HS. One of nicer HS baseball facilities in Iowa w/35 ft high mesh safety netting & 2 row comfy stadium seating spans 1B to 3B. Quality concession area facing field under press box w/cement walking areas and spacious parking. MV's Gabe Grafft w/2 run HR in 2nd.

Reporting fr Winfield, IA where @MVMustangBB are taking on the Winfield-Mount Union/Columbus Wolves in a Saturday matinee. Very nice ballfield next to the co-op with Mountain Dew/Pepsi signage on scoreboard. Popcorn 🍿 gets an A- fr longtime Mustang fan & Grandpa Ron McDermott.

It was all Cougars tonight as Class 2A #5 ranked Cascade looked the part & easily handled @MVMustangBB 12-1 (5) at Mount Vernon. Sr Eli Fritz gave up 5H in a complete game win. Cole McDermott led MV hitters with 2H. Mustangs travel to Benton tomorrow for a WaMaC twinbill.

Holy Toledo! We didn't spot Milo Hamilton today (iykyk), but we went to some more garage sales, saw a cool roundabout stoplight, found their old football field, and passed on a weekly hotel offer (we didn't need it for that long).

@Doowah801 Rippey, IA is a Baseball Town! That is their slogan. A bunch of old guys fixed up a defunct field and now they host adult men's baseball and high school baseball games there. We were rained out today against Webster City.

Road less traveled. MV Baseball rained out en route to Rippey, IA. Pulled over in Tama for citywide garage sales. Spent just $24 on this haul incl Rawlings Heart of the Hide ball glove. Tacos de lengua (beef tongue) outstanding at La Terraza in downtown Tama. You should go here.

Mustangs drop game 2 to Class 3A #2 Marion 11-5. Couple big mid game innings from the Wolves spoiled a terrific start from lefty freshman Eli Casey. Cael Foreman had 2H to lead MV batters & Drew Thurn had 1H & 2RBI. Next up vs Webster City in Rippey this Saturday.
