@Muppetiers If £80m is his price we should move on and get someone proven like Tonali or Tchouameni for that price (if they’re available). I don’t want to see us pay them kind of fees unless the players are proven because they will pretty much always flop
@theraumdeutar@WestHam_Central@FabrizioRomano I don’t even think I’d want us to pay £85m if West Ham were in the PL still. He’s a good player but £60m is the highest we should go. We might end up regretting it but right now £85m is too much.
@WAdeola@ckbang3@utdreport@TimesSport How is €30m a laughable valuation? The devaluing is €30m. Less than that is a joke considering Barca are paying €80m for Gordon, who isn’t better than Rashford. If you offered €25m it’s at least close but you’re essentially offering half the already lower value.
@ckbang3@utdreport@TimesSport Definitely possible. Real shame that he’d want to help drive an already ridiculously low valuation down to virtually nothing.
@PH_CTID@danmufc11@TeleFootball@Carra23 Dunno where you got your figures from but City were actually 2nd highest spenders from 2016-2026 and 3rd highest net spenders. Funnily enough, I’m not saying that spending money is the only factor in success anyway because clearly the manager has to be good like SAF & Pep were.
@PH_CTID@danmufc11@TeleFootball@Carra23 At clubs who hadn’t won them in decades. Pep is a great manager and brought City to the next level like Fergie but the situations at the clubs he went to weren’t as desperate as when SAF entered Aberdeen or United, regardless of some half decent seasons prior to him joining.
@PH_CTID@danmufc11@TeleFootball@Carra23 He bettered the 1 off season City had which came off the back of you being restricted on spending so you fell off slightly. Your squad still won the PL & Don’t act like Pellegrini didn’t win it despite being an average manager. Regardless of what you say, Fergie had to win titles
@PH_CTID@danmufc11@TeleFootball@Carra23 And no Fergie didn’t spend more. It’s literally proven in the figures. From 1986-2013 (his entire tenure) he was 4th highest gross and net spender. He was outspent regularly season on season too.
@_red_7@mbellam2@UnitedStandMUFC@JacobsBen He’s probably going to sell for a Championship record so anything above the £53+5m Chelsea paid for Lavia. My guess is £55m with £5m add ons.
@Hosang@IwanDoherty98 The reality is we would not have finished 3rd with him in charge. Assuming the PL finished as is, to finish 3rd Carrick had to win 10 out of the 16 games (he won 12). Are you telling me you think Amorim could have won 10/16 considering he only managed 8 in 21 before being sacked?
@Hosang@IwanDoherty98 Yeah & 4 from 14th. The table was tight at the time but we were pathetic under Amorim so the real nonsense argument is to say he didn’t deserve to be sacked. He should probably have been gone after that embarrassing Lyon game but the Spurs final & the Grimsby game took the piss
@Hosang@IwanDoherty98 There were no “expected” points with Amorim 😂 Could barely string 2 wins in a row together never mind get to 60+ points and finish 3rd
@PH_CTID@danmufc11@TeleFootball@Carra23 For 24 years and Fergie came in and did it within 2 years. Multiple clubs spent more than United and from 1992-1997 City outspent United. Pep had an average first season so spent £300m in one window.
