I am so very sad to learn that the great actor Michael Pennington has died. We were together at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre for the best part of 13 yrs. Over the years whenever we met we would talk ‘Shakespeare!’
He was one of our great Shakespearean actors. RIP Dear Michael.

A joyous and historic gathering at @TheSanctuaryCDL this week of our newly formed ‘Network of Orthodox and Eastern Churches’ for its first meeting, which presented an opportunity for the strengthening of relationships between our Churches, and the possibility of collaboration and cooperation across issues that impact our communities.

Our Shared Vision:
“To witness together to the Apostolic Faith of Christ as preserved in the Eastern Christian Traditions, fostering visible love, deeper understanding, and united service among our Churches for our communities, and to wider society”

This is in the spirit of 1 Peter 4:10, “As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.”

This is not a place to resolve theological or doctrinal differences, but to focus on what we can and should do together in and through that which binds us.

After a very positive and hopeful meeting, we look forward to the coming steps in our fraternal journey.

For our sisters and brothers preparing to celebrate Christmas tomorrow, and for those of us who still have a little longer to prepare, it is important to remember that the real spirit of gift-giving at Christmas stems from the true Gift of the Incarnation that we received from the One Who came to be like us, and calls us to be like Him. In that spirit, and at this time, it is of paramount importance that we remember, above all, to give of ourselves to one another.
