Today is the day we say our goodbye's to a beloved friend and world icon boxing champion Ricky Hatton. His last walk also being on World Mental Health Day is a powerful attribute to not forget we are not alone. Please take the time to read the following for Ricky's Foundation. Rest easy Ricky 🥊❤️ Thanks James x
THE RICKY HATTON FOUNDATION
Ricky loved people, loved to talk, and above all, loved helping others. The Ricky Hatton Foundation will carry that spirit forward — supporting those facing their own fights with mental illness and ensuring that no one ever has to face those battles alone.
Our mission will be to:
Raise awareness of mental health challenges
Remove the stigma that prevents people from speaking up.
Educate and support through community programmes, outreach, and practical resources.
Offer direct support through talking therapies.
Be there, in the corner of those struggling with their mental health, so they know that no one has to fight this alone
Sport will be at the heart of this work. Just as Ricky used boxing to inspire people, the Foundation will use sport — boxing, football, and beyond — as a powerful vehicle to bring people together, spark conversation and drive positive change.
*Raffle for the Ricky Hatton Foundation*
To support the Ricky Hatton Foundation, we are holding a raffle featuring an incredible prize that money can't buy. Renowned artist Jaymokid has created a portrait of Ricky, framed and signed artwork available to celebrate 20 years of winning belts. All profits from the raffle will go directly to the foundation, making the £20 ticket price a worthwhile investment.
If you want to support this worthy cause, please email [email protected] to purchase your raffle tickets via PayPal. The draw will take place on Monday after the match. Thank you for your support – I'm determined to make a difference for the foundation in honor of Ricky!
LIMITED EDITION FRAMED PRINTS PERSONALLY SIGNED BY RICKY HATTON
In 2005 Ricky 'The Hitman' Hatton dethroned fearsome IBF world champion Kostya Tszyu in front of an army of Manchester fans to become IBF World Welterweight Champion.
In celebration of the 20th anniversary of Ricky's world title fight, I was commissioned to create a piece of artwork that encapsulated that moment with Ricky's mantra of "It's not how you fall, It's how you rise"
