🚨 BREAKING: Southampton are in advanced talks with free agent midfielder Dan Neil (24), who is high on Tonda Eckert's wish list, & now close to signing for Saints #saintsfc@SkySportsNews
#SaintsFc EFL ruling:
Tonda Eckert accepted that he had specifically authorised the observations to obtain information about formation in the case of Oxford United and about player availability in the case of Boro
Terrible indictment of him and the use of junior member of staff too …
Tonda Eckert at the centre of Spy Gate scandal #SaintsFc
The independent commission ruled that Saints had “A contrived and determined plan from the top down”
Full details @BBCSport
#SaintsFc Detemination 39 of the findings was a reprimand for use of junior members of staff which it says was “at the least morally wrong” and “in a vulnerable position without job security and with limited ability to object”
Tonda has stooped lower than any of us could imagine 😞
Southampton CEO Phil Parsons apologises to fans and clubs spied on, but calls verdict to expel "the largest penalty ever imposed on an English football club".
No mention of what happens to Eckert, Spors or other staff. #SaintsFC
🚨 BREAKING: Southampton manager Tonda Eckert admitted he was responsible for the decision to spy on opponents — his key defence was that, since the practice is widespread on the continent, he had no idea he was breaking English football rules #saintsfc@TeleFootball
Southampton have also admitted breaches concerning fixtures against Oxford United in December 2025 and Ipswich Town in April 2026 🚨
They lost 2-1 to Oxford, drew 2-2 with Ipswich.
Final nail in the coffin for Sport Republic. Doesn't matter who sanctioned the decision, the club ownership is as senior as it gets, and they oversaw repeat cheating. On top of two relegations. Got to go 👋

🚨 Breaking: Southampton believe that with tomorrow’s appeal, there is still ‘a very strong chance’ that they will be in Saturday’s play-off final #saintsfc@SkySportsNews
#SaintsFC's lack of leadership & accountability has come home to roost. Players, staff &, most importantly, supporters let down immensely. Quite where the club go from here, irrepsective of the appeal, is beyond me
Normal people at the club will lose their jobs because of this.
Players will be rightly fuming, anyone half decent will leave and you can’t blame them.
The people who signed off on this will leave with millions in their pockets, leaving fans to pick up the pieces. #SaintsFC
The appeal from #SaintsFc likely to be heard tomorrow and when you have admitted to cheating 3 times the grounds for that appeal can only be that the punishment doesn’t fit the crime.
With what was at stake it may be the biggest financial punishment in recent sporting history - but there’ll be little sympathy outside the club
As I've said from the beginning, anybody with any involvement in spying on other clubs must go. Whether that's Spors, Eckert, whoever. What a way to bring a downer on such a positive end to the season.
Back to square one, will be a new manager search I'm sure. #SaintsFC
