@DiscussingFilm I imagine Fincher doesn’t want to be tied down to one studio, especially one that doesn’t prioritize quality content. He values creative and quality control so Apple TV seems like the perfect fit. I love to see a paranoia thriller or brainy sci-fi project from Fincher via Apple
@DiscussingFilm I love IMAX but I would not subject myself to this kind of visual and auditory assault on the senses. Why can’t Nolan simply make an artistic, true to the source material epic without turning it into a bloated spectacle?
@Variety I don’t have an issue with how AI is being used here; I’m pretty sure the use of CGI put some practical effects people out of work. I hate it when AI becomes the primary tool and supersedes human creativity.
@Brink_Thinker Well done by ZS. Australian heat is brutal, I don’t understand why they can’t close the roof when it’s this hot. Of course others in the outside courts gotta deal with it but they can always allow players and ball kids to have longer hydration breaks
@RetroMoviesDB Ferrigno, without any doubt. No Cg, no problem.
Eric Bana’s got the best motion capture but Director Ann Lee did a lot of the performance work himself
@any_iamvictor @CuriosityonX Billionaires only care about short term profits, they’ll never invest in long term solutions even if it means saving their own lives. You need visionaries and environmentalists, we have self serving egomaniacs
This is where @netflix focuses its resources these days, ruining the user experience:
https://t.co/pUnFr7XjLB Netflix ruined its Apple TV app by switching to a custom video player - 9to5Mac
@netflix I really hope the show takes on a more mature approach and gets out in the real world. The problem with Netflix, and Hollywood in general, is its tendency to appease its audience instead of surprising them
@Variety Michael B Jordan was good in Sinners but I’m yet to see Timothée Chalamet in Marty Supreme to compare the two. The whole ceremony was just weir and uninspired. Hollywood needs to reinvent the Oscars—and yeah, produce more than a handful of quality films not just one or two
@Variety A win for the dinosaurs at Paramount/Skydance and WBD investors, bad news for their employees and creators. Netflix should invest the 2.8 billion on David Fincher’s Squid Games America and Mindhunter—he did start their original content model back in 2013 with House of Cards
@THR Where was all this outrage when Disney acquired Twentieth Century Fox and completely dismantled one of Hollywood’s greatest studios? They took valuable IPs like Avatar, X-Men, Alien, Planet of the Apes and discarded the rest. HBO and WB will thrive—Netflix isn’t stupid
@usopen I’m loving Emma’s game—she’s definitely getting better.
As if there wasn’t enough JP Morgan/Chase blue around the Open, there’s a rather distracting blue ribbon along the bottom edge of the LED wall at Louis Armstrong Stadium—they need to add more contrasting colors like black
@ashotmagazine New cinematographer, new medium. Is Denis changing the look of Dune? Nothing wrong with the first two films except they look incredibly sharp, which is a good thing
