Martin Scorsese & Francis Ford Coppola each premiered films at Cannes as young men in the ‘70s. Now, each in their 80’s, they’re still making magic- they’re still fighting to bring their visions to life. Scorsese won the Palme d'Or at Cannes with his 1976 masterpiece Taxi Driver & last year, at age 81, Scorsese rolled out another masterpiece, Killers of the Flower Moon, with pure class. Meanwhile, Coppola was the first director to win the Palme twice: first, in 1974 with The Conversation & again in 1979 for Apocalypse Now. Today, Coppola premiered #Megalopolis at 85. Seeing both Scorsese & Coppola still creating after four decades is inspiring as hell. Two directors who once lead a movement in Hollywood in the ‘70s are still trailblazing in the year 2024. Simply astounding.

L'esordio di Yasuharu Hasebe, BLACK TIGHT KILLERS, in BRD @FilmsRadiance è una deliziosa fantasia pop giapponese. L'influenza dichiarata è il primo James Bond (siamo nel 1966) ma oltre alla lezione del mentore Seijun Suzuki, si respira un'idea di cinema molto vicina a Mario Bava.
