Baptism is salvatory AND symbolic. The river water (and fish poop) isn't literally washing away your sins, it is symbolically washing away your sins. Salvation already happens through God's grace.

It is you symbolically being raised from the dead. The key was not for someone to literally drown you and then resuscitate your new "You".

You might not have understood what I meant by symbolic. I wasn't minimizing the significance.

She already has an opinion of truth and has an opinion of the President of the United States of America and it shows on her face. And if she was any good at her job, it shouldn't.

Ask about the dude who was told to scrub mud in his eyes to cure his blindness.

Ask about the fortified walls of an ancient city that toppled because of a brass jazz band.

Ask about the guy who was really, really strong because of his hair. (Okay, that one's probably grounded in science somewhere).

Ask about the Guy who laid in a middle-eastern tomb, under a middle-eastern sun (it's currently 105 here) for three days, and then came back to life from a horrible death.

Ask about every living species and subspecies (around 2.2 million), predator and prey, herbivore and carnivore, living side by side, fitting onto a boat that rose straight up in a 40-day storm that flooded the entire planet, but then, despite apocalyptic winds and rains capable of that horrible deluge, dropped right back down at the exact same spot on the planet that it had been 40 days earlier.

"Magic underwear" might just be the least incredible thing I believe in.

My own Testimony is rooted in a very spiritual experience when I was VERY MUCH opposed (to say the least) to receiving one, so I rely on that more than the "logic" of pro- or anti- arguments. But, the fact that some of those first witnesses became bona fide enemies of the Church and its leaders and still maintained their accounts was a strong argument for me.

Those men held the power to say, "It was all a scam, right from the start." and kill a Church they despised in its nascent stages and never denied what they saw and experienced.

Kirk's Biological Son, David: Jesus Christ, God's Only Begotten Son, the Savior of Mankind
Saavik: The Holy Ghost, constant and sympathetic companion, advocate, and guide to humanity, as they navigate their way through mortal life on "Earth"

Spock: Humanity, Mankind, Mortal Man
Klingons: Mortal Sin; Satan
Genesis Device: Divine Nature of God to create worlds; Divine Potential of Mankind to create children

I'm going to mix metaphors, so buckle up!

Kirk creates a planet and removes Spock from Heaven (or the Pre-mortal existence), and places him on the newly-formed Garden-of Even-like Earth, granting him life at the final stage of the Genesis Planet generative process. Knowing that Earth will also hold the dangers of Sin and eternal damnation and that Satan will actively pursue Spock to thwart humanity's pursuit of its own divine destiny, he also sends his Son (literal and figurative) and the Holy (Saavik) Ghost to guide and comfort Spock, innocent, child-like, and unaware of the Plan of Salvation (that there is a Heaven above), while he wanders the Earth, searching for a way back home.

Spock awakens in this new existence (his knowledge of the pre-mortal existence wiped clean), and during his mortal journey on the planet, he relies on the Holy Ghost to interpret for him the reasons behind the painful processes of reaching his full potential and the mysteries of existence that he is otherwise oblivious to, while David acts as intermediary between Kirk and Spock.

Nonetheless, the Klingons (the Carnal Man; Sin and Transgression), jealous and covetous of God's power (the Genesis Device) and unstoppable in their destructive resolve, appear and threaten to destroy Humanity, when David literally sacrifices himself (pierced in the side, no less) so that Spock might live and return to Heavenly Father in Heaven, erm, the Enterprise, hovering above Earth.

Though the Earth is subsequently consumed by fire and earthquakes, Humanity is "beamed away" from Sin and Heavenly Father's Plan is fully realized, through Jesus's sacrifice.

Spock, the Savior-figure to Kirk's Humanity in "Wrath of Khan", is saved.

What did I miss?

The Temptation Apple? The "daily" stages of Creation? Free Agency? Scriptures?
