The richest 1% are responsible for the same quantity of planet-wrecking greenhouse gases as two-thirds of humanity.
These are not natural facts. They are the result of humanity’s choices.
We can, and must, decide to do things differently.
Tasmanian Premier @jeremyrockliff has announced his ministry - and there is no Minister for Climate Change.
This is a clear statement of his priorities, and I call on Labor, Greens and the 3 independents to work together to force the government to take action on global heating.
The Albanese government wrings its hands about the loss of Palestinian lives while it facilitates a two way arms trade with the State of Israel.
Rafah doesn’t need Labor’s thoughts and prayers, it needs direct, unified, international action.
@NoHealthNoFun@YouAreLobbyLud There is already a mandate: our Workplace Health & Safety laws. Covid19 is an occupational health risk and employers are required to ensure that the workplace is without risks to health as far as reasonably practicable. These laws are not being enforced, and that is disgraceful.
@Megastar271@ToshiAkima@drajm Such a great question, @Megastar271 ! It was one of my main points in my submission to the federal Covid inquiry: https://t.co/PYpviqvhsE
@Hayley_Gleeson Great work! Thank you, @Hayley_Gleeson I hope your articles have the same kind of beneficial impact that Matt Peacock’s ABC Radio series on asbestos had in the 1970s.
Please keep these articles coming.
"Australian hospitals have become a ..new battleground.., with doctors and public health experts concerned that too many patients are catching the virus — and an alarming number are dying — as a result of inadequate infection control." https://t.co/QR987Hwplo
Hello class!
This is a bottle of Bitrex solution. It is the bitterest tasting substance known to science. I have filled this nebulizer with it.
*turns on nebulizer, stream of particles shoots out*

This is a tale of two earloop respirators. The Q100 is from Canada, and its antipodean twin, the AMD T4, harks from Australia. They are almost identical in look, feel, and fit test results.🧵
Really interesting post from @joeyfox85 on why transmission of the SARS-CoV-2 virus is reduced outdoors. New research shows we still have things to learn about this.
Australia summer headlines☀️
“Dual wave”
“Wave on wave”
“Overlapping waves”
“Consecutive waves”
“Double wave”
“Second surge”
“2 new variants sweep”
Couldn’t be clearer waves are variant driven, anyone saying it’s seasonal or hybrid immunity will save us is lying/ignorant
It was good to be able to make a submission to the government Covid inquiry. I focused on airborne transmission and the role workplace health and safety legislation should play in reducing transmission. https://t.co/kBLoVRo5ib @bridgetarcher@Mon4Kooyong

Viral persistence or an over-exuberant immune system? Or both? It matters a lot that these potential root causes of #LongCovid are better defined as @PutrinoLab explains in this terrific thread. He & his collaborators are at the leading edge of this work. A must read.
