@bparks400@shansen614@briebriejoy@cmkshama Many Republicans wouldn't vote, true, but many more would vote for Smith against Sawant as what they view as the "lesser evil". Not saying Basler was better by any means, just saying that Chaudhry's candidacy wasn't the reason Sawant won't be the elected rep for WA-9.
@bparks400@shansen614@briebriejoy@cmkshama I'm pretty sure that the 23% of people who voted Republican wouldn't be choosing her over Smith if those were the two that made it to the general election. She needed to have eaten a bigger share of his 49% to show she had a shot.
@justin4OR@ryangrim If Sawant went on to the general election against Smith, who do you think the 25% who voted Republican in the primary would choose? Chaudhry's run had no effect on who the district will be sending to DC.
@shansen614@briebriejoy@cmkshama If Chaudhry wasn't running, Sawant might've gotten in the top 2 this time but would've lost in November - we can't blame this one on vote-splitting.
@Cheering4Change If he hasn't been seen in Congress in over a month, the seat is effectively vacant, and the 17th Amendment already addresses vacancies.
@NathanJRobinson@ryangrim@SocialistMMA@briebriejoy@cmkshama There are nearly 500 congressional races every two years. They can't possibly interview every candidate in every race. Even if they could, each interview needs to be somehow interesting to a national audience.
@briebriejoy@cmkshama It's a top-2 primary. If Sawant is a viable candidate, she will make it through Aug 4 and face off against Smith in November. She can be interviewed closer to that contest. The odds of Smith coming in 3rd in August are almost zero.
@PattyMurray Sunrise in King County in January will be almost 9am, an hour after a lot of kids here start school and even longer after they have to catch the bus. This is a horrible idea.
@silentwisperer_ I always hated how much durability it would use on my tools to break boats, so I'd always resort to punching them repeatedly for what seemed like forever.

@0ther_Gbl1n One theory I've heard is that everything in the show was with Vibrant Visuals, and there were some things that they only have implemented in Java so far. And the hay beds they were seeking feedback on rather than publicly announcing.
Besides, it's got us talking...
