Per occult theory (and some anecdotal evidence) man can indeed escape reincarnation, but “escape reincarnation” means different things to different people. Most generally, it means achieving continuity of memory & identity, plus no longer being forced to obey a spiritual curriculum.

Just as there are various ways to “escape school” (drop out, independent study, graduate) there are various ways to “escape reincarnation. ” Some are highly illegal.

From the darkest to the most legit ways:

A. After death, while still in the etheric body & before entering the light, the soul can be shuttled back into a prepared physical body, like an infant whose soul has been kicked out through ritual trauma and/or temporary death in a sacrifice to demons. Those still living conducting the ritual, together with demons working from the other side, stitch the candidate soul into that vacated body. The person then retains their memories/identity since they still “have the original hard drive” (the etheric & astral body of their former life). Such people can be “1000+ years old” but have used up dozens of bodies. They head up the various dark secret societies.

B. What many ETs do. Same as “A” except after death, transfer into a blank cloned or artificially grown body, and instead of demons doing the stitching, it’s others of their kind who, in being psychic & having etheric technology, are adept at performing soul transplants. They can even do it to humans, like Ted Rice recounted in “Masquerade of Angels” by Turner. Bodies to aliens are containers. Their limitation is soul-body compatibility & maybe “age of the soul” since there are aspects of the soul that even ET tech can’t renew, so older dark ETs might be technically alive but “dead” in a spiritual sense. Human life extension technologies will run into the same problem with soul/psyche disintegration, given enough time.

B. After death, before the light, a person can turn away from the light (or not encounter it in the first place) and remain in the astral or etheric state. If etheric & lurking near the physical plane, then they’ll need to replenish their disintegrating etheric bodies to remain there. One way is to feed off the lifeforce of the living, which is obviously unethical.

C. A person can achieve practical physical immortality by being a successful inner/laboratory alchemist (ideally both) and imbibing the Philosopher’s Stone. This ignites an etheric fire that shifts them, like an ionized atom, into a higher energy level in the etheric sense, and they unbind from linear spacetime & the laws of entropy. Thus they can live for centuries upwards of 1000+ years.

D. Before or after death, spiritualize the etheric body so that it doesn’t depend on loosh from other beings to stay together. Instead, the energy comes from one’s own higher source, just as spiritually undamaged children full of vitality are drawing their energy from their own higher dimensional source. Thus one can stay earthbound indefinitely, or drop it and move to the astral. This is building what Rudolf Steiner calls the “life spirit” which is the transmuted etheric body; in Bon it’s called the “rainbow body;” Jewish mystics call it the “merkabah.” If you also spiritualize the physical body, you create in Steiner terms a “spirit body” which lets you materialize & dematerialize physically. There are illegal ways to do the same maneuver; the point here is that one does it properly via divine spiritual power not technological or occult tricks.

E. Actually graduate. Forged in the crucible of the incarnation cycle, you overcame weakness, illusion, delusion, fear, internal division, and false desires. You’re done with it all, with the petty dramas, the games, the duality. And not because you’re weak & want to run from it, but because you’ve mastered yourself & the game. You have transcended it. Your consciousness has strengthened into a diamond that can’t be shattered by waking, sleeping, dreaming, dying, or reincarnating. You maintain continuity of consciousness forever. You lived as a bodhisattva for a while, as a final service to your brothers and sisters, but have moved on. Reincarnation serves no purpose for you anymore. You have tasted from the Tree of Knowledge of Good & Evil, but have now eaten from the Tree of Life as well. Your concerns are of a loftier nature unfathomable to your former mortal self. You’re closer to an angel now than a human, for you see through the cosmic eternal eye of God.

IMO the exaggeration in some white light trap theories is that all souls who enter the light are instantly memory wiped, dissolved of their individuality, recycle as energy, eaten by the evil demiurge, or whatever the variant of the theory is.

And so if after death you see angels, Jesus, your dead grandma, your childhood dog, etc. guiding you lovingly into the light — these are just masks worn by the tentacles of the Cththulhu-type abomination on the other side of the light. Hence you best turn around & float away as fast as you can (even into the darkness) to avoid being captured & ceasing to exist.

The truth IMO is that you can go through the light just fine, do the afterlife review process, reunite with your dead loved ones, spend time decompressing, watch over those still living, grow tired of your individuality, sense it’s time to move on, drop your astral costume, strip down to your cosmic impersonal essence, choose your path, come back here to continue that path if that’s what you feel you need, bring your essence with you to be further developed...

...but that whole thing is part of the illusion of individuated existence, of separation, linear & nonlinear time, attachment, suffering. You don’t absolutely have to go through all that, but if you feel attached/invested in your development as an individual then you just might.

The trap, if you can call it that, is this! It is that entire process! IMO it’s not as simple as “white light = Chthulhu monster, the end.” It’s the whole package, including all the fun, positive, awesome aspects of existence.

So as part of that “trap” you would have to include your love for your favorite things in life, the things you stand for, your values, your hopes/goals/dreams, the love you have for your partner, pet, relative, etc. Because these are all factors in keeping you here in this “illusion.” They are causes for attachment.

Buddhist/Hindu sages consider such things part of the trap & illusion, and say you shouldn’t get attached to them, because attachment brings suffering, and so on.

Well me personally, I think there are more important things than avoiding suffering, like pursuing justice, truth, and service even if it hurts, and if I’m an immortal being having a human experience then time is on my side & one or a dozen incarnations isn’t a big deal.

The memory wipe happens just before birth, long after entering the light. That’s why your deceased loved ones can still visit/watch/protect you for years after they’ve died, because they still remember who you are. The nuances in anecdotal data prove it’s really them, unlike seances where it’s often just entities pretending.

And it’s not a true erasure of memory, but the creation of a new folder for your new life’s memories. The other folder is still there a level up, re-accessible in certain states of consciousness.

There are lots of reports of toddlers who still have access to that other folder due to their brain being in a theta state & their souls not fully locked into their bodies. Those same conditions can exist in NDEs, OBEs, deep hypnosis, mystical initiations, drug experiences, etc. leading to recovery of some memories.

That said, in life we still have subconscious traces of what came before, to the degree that it impacted our being/essence. Such traces come through via our intuition, instinct, and inner knowing. It’s our being/essence that is tested & worked on in life.

Those traces are why you don’t make the same choices others do in the same situation, because you didn’t come here as a complete blank slate. There’s residual memory in your spiritual DNA so to speak.

What the system gains from people avoiding the standard afterlife process is more stragglers that can be scooped up & put to use as earthbound energy harvesters or lured into false astral purgatories to be psychologically tortured for their remaining loosh content.

This is if you don’t do as Howdie Mickoski and others advise which is to focus on your highest good/home & intend to go there. Personally I think you wind up on the other side of the light anyway if you do that. So it’s wise advice.

Merely turning away from the light in fear, however, without your heart set on a genuine spiritual destination, can mean missing the bus & wandering into the dark alleys where you’ll join what’s waiting there.

I keep getting pushed. Here are the facts about JS and I’m interested how LDS members can wholeheartedly sing Praise To The Man. This is an actual question and I’m curious.

- Was arrested 42 times (court documents)
- The same rock in a hat that he used to translate the plates he previously used to find buried treasure, which he never actually found and was convicted of being a fraud for conning people out of their money (court documents)
- Married at least 34 women. Some other men’s wives, some mother/daughter pairs (church essays)
- Was found by Emma in the barn with Fanny Alger and then suddenly had a revelation that God commanded him to do it because it’s the “new and everlasting covenant” and she had to comply on threat of death . “To my servant Emma, if she abides not this commandment she will be destroyed, saith the Lord (journal entries and section 132, specifically verse 54)
- Every manuscript we still have remaining he translated laughably incorrectly - we know the language now (remaining manuscripts and the translations)
- He illegally set up a bank and defrauded people out of their money. The 3 witnesses left the church over it (historical documents)
- Was found drunk in public on multiple occasions (historical documents)
- Ordered the burning of a printing press that wrote an article exposing his polygamy. That’s why he was arrested and went to Carthage (Nauvoo Expositor)
- Tried to sell the copyright to the BoM and was unsuccessful (FAIR and BYU scholars)

I could go on. The facts say he was incredibly shady.

I just don’t understand how this guy is heralded. Please explain, I’m curious.
