CHRISTIANITY AND THE SYSTEMATIC ERASURE/EROSION OF AFRICAN WORDS, CONCEPTS....:

Central to Western Colonization was the CIVILIZING MISSION carried out by the Missionaries. In this endeavour, the Missionaries ensured that the African languages; Words, Concepts...... had to be tightly tied to the CONCEPT OF WESTERN CIVILIZATION. So there was deliberate CULTURAL DEMONIZATION/PAGANIZATION of indigenous Words. Many were associated with evil, and negative connotations were attached. Consequently, many indigenous Words were blacklisted as PAGAN(obukafiiri), PRIMITIVE(obushema), even DEMONIC(emizimu). So, Africans were made to feel ashamed of their MOTHER TONGUES, and many African words were classified as SCANDALOUS. So we took on Western names, abandoned all indigenous lexicons, etc. So, this Afternoon, when I asked one of my X associates what the word DIARRHOEA is in Runyankore, he couldn't mention it. Instead he ventured into obscure KWALA-KWALAS.....,because to him, the real Word is SCANDALOUS, PRIMITIVE, even SATANIC!
That is how we were conquered and remain chained!

WHY HAS AFRICA FAILED TO TURN THE CORNER IN ITS QUEST FOR TOTAL INDEPENDENCE?

That 70 YEARS AFTER "INDEPENDENCE", Africans still use French, English, Portuguese.., in their living rooms and in their burial ceremonies; what does it say about us? Listening to our colonial elites talk about OUR AFRICAN TRIBES, all of them; whether those in power or not, makes one feel very sad. Because most of us view TRIBE through PAROCHIAL LENSES; of US vs THEM; of grounds to weaponize ethnic differences, etc. But never as the FOUNDATIONAL PILLARS FOR BUILDING VIBALE STATES. That is where African Ideological myopia has been most destructive!
If we understood that CULTURAL SOVEREIGNITY IS THE DEFINING FOUNDATIONAL PILLAR IN NATION BUILDING, then we would start looking at TRIBES DIFFERENTLY AND UTILISING THEM DIFFERENTLY! But the COLONIZER fully understood that CULTURAL SOVEREIGNITY was the FOUNDATION OF THE AFRICAN RESISTANCE. Really the embodiment of the AFRICAN SPIRIT! Because it was the the foundation of everything; GOVERNANCE, LAWS, BELIEFS, and really shaped the African's Worldview. So it became the Coloniser's MAIN-EFFORT(ME)earmarked for TOTAL ERADICATION OR ASSIMILATION; ie, totally eradicate or assimilate the INDIGENOUS SYSTEMS; languages, legal systems governmence structures, indigenous belief systems, customs and traditions, etc.

And because the PROTECTOR of these VALUES was the TRIBE; the Colinizer DIVIDED and VILIFIED the TRIBE. So in the building of the NEW CENTRALISED COLONIAL STATES, the foundation of CULTURAL SOVEREIGNTY was destroyed. So even at independence, the AFRICAN Leaders failed to grasp a key issue: HOW TO CORRECTLY HANDLE THE DIMENSIONS OF SOVEREIGNTY INTETRARION. So like the Bazungu manipulated us; we also moved forward with the ideological fallacy of INFERIORITY OF AFRICAN TRIBES and failed to know that THE SOVEREIGNTY OF THESE TRIBES WAS INHERENT; PREDATING THE NEW CENTRALIZED COLONIAL CREATURES. The fallacy whch falsely projected that the TRIBAL SOVEREIGN AREAS WERE THERE AT THE PLEASURE OF THESE CENTRALISED COLONIAL CREATURES.
Henceforth, we lost the only STRUCTURES that would help us regain our CULTURAL SOVEREIGNTY but also work as ENABLERS OF THE HARMONIOUS TRIBAL INTEGRATIONS.

Next, I'm going to tackle our failure to extricate ourselves from the EUROPEAN PRINCIPLES OF DOCTRINE OF DISCOVERY and the PRINCIPLE of TERRA NULLIUS; concept of NOBODY'S LAND..which African Post-independence leaders either didn't understand or took advetange of....These are now principles of INTERNATIONAL LAW!
