Know your torturers and abductors. This is the COMMAND AND ADMINISTRATIVE STRUCTURE OF THE SPECIAL FORCES
COMMAND AND DEFENCE INTELLIGENCE AND SECURITY.
A few moments back, I just received the most devastating news regarding the untimely passing of our brother, dear friend and comrade Yokana Mbuuse fondly called Kapere Lufotose. A man who made every dark moment light. A man who loved his country and wished it well! A loss so difficult to take in.
It was lovely to catch up with @HEBobiwine and meet his son Solomon at the Lincoln Memorial yesterday.
His red-capped supporters turned up in force! Young and old, women and men, they came to stand with political prisoners and show their love and solidarity with BW.
Watching him engage with people, I saw a warm, thoughtful and humble leader.
It breaks my heart and angers me that he and his family must live in exile. What injustice! What a loss for Uganda to drive away a young leader of such promise!
Oh Uganda, what are we doing to ourselves? 🇺🇬
More than two months now since Ronald Kizito Jjuuko was shot and killed by an officer of @PoliceUg during the National Cleaning Day.
His family is still crying out for justice.
Son: I will kill him. I will hang him on a tree.
Father: (Compliments the son on the torture) They are tortured, but not killed. If this had been Amin, the would be Dead.
Baguma: The trial must continue, even if he is unconscious and has no legal representation.
Uncle: I found him nearly dead and ordered for his transfer to JCRC in Lubowa.
Ugandans: You should appreciate Uncle. He is kindhearted. Without him, your Besigye could have died.
Me: Release him immediately, not in three or six months. His condition remains critical, and he is fully entitled to bail and urgent medical care.

US raises uncertainty concerns over Uganda’s endemic corruption, human rights abuses
The report identifies corruption as a major impediment to investment, particularly in government procurement, where foreign companies have complained that some competitors secure contracts through bribery and disregard for environmental and labour regulations.
“While anti-corruption laws extend to family members of officials and political parties, in practice many well-connected individuals enjoy de facto immunity for corrupt acts and are rarely prosecuted in court,” the report states.
On judicial independence, the report says corruption undermines the impartiality of the judiciary, while understaffing and a backlog of cases delay the resolution of disputes.
It also cites reports of high-ranking government officials influencing court decisions, raising concerns about the justice system’s ability to provide impartial remedies in disputes involving investors and government institutions.
“Reports of torture allegedly perpetrated by elements within the official security forces persist,” the report states, adding that security agencies routinely use excessive force to suppress peaceful protests and demonstrations.

A short while ago, I spoke with our comrade Olivia Lutaaya and welcomed her back from the long period of unjustified detention. I am glad that her conviction has not been diminished by the criminal regime's persistent persecution. I assured her that the immense sacrifice she, together with other comrades, have made for a better country will never be in vain.

She’s out of prison again (we don’t know for how long). She has spent a year in prison after being violently rearrested at Kyagulanyi’s campaign rally in Mbarara last year. She was first said to have been arrested for destruction of property in Karamoja as per @PoliceUg statement but was later charged with unlawful drilling like many other @NUP_Ug supporters. Before her arrest on Nov 8 2025, she had just been free for a year after spending close to 4 years in prison. On both occasions, the state never proves its case against her but coerced her to plead guilty to regain her freedom. Welcome back Olivia Lutaaya✊🏽❤️❤️
Forty-four years ago, at just 26, my life partner, Dr Kizza Besigye, abandoned his career as a medical doctor to join a liberation struggle against dictatorship in Uganda.
We won that war. But tragically, the liberators became the oppressors.
Kizza refused to betray the ideals for which he had risked his life. In 2001, he challenged his former commander for the presidency…../2
