This gets better. Today is the first league match day squad since Jim's playing debut on 9 Mar 1990 that hasn't featured a player Jim either played alongside or went on to manage. 1586 games over 35 years, 17 permanent managers, 5 divisions and 626 players making their debut.

Hinchliffe and Southam-Hales missing out means today is the first time since 12 Apr 2003 we’ve named a league match day squad without a player managed by Jim Gannon. A run stretching back 987 league games and almost 22 years 🫡
